COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! trailer
John Schneider stars in and directed COLLIER & CO. -- HOT PURSUIT! (he and I co-produced the movie).
John's orange '69 Dodge Charger, now known as Traveler, roars through the film, jumping creeks and causing mayhem. COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! tells the story of J.R. Collier, a man who used to be the greatest race car driver in the country, but who now struggles to keep his family together because, as his wife demands, "A family needs security."
Good ol' boy Collier knows nothing about security. He cooks up a scheme to win exotic cars by street racing unsuspecting rich boys, and then sells the exotic cars to the highest bidders.
One car, however, contains something the bad guys want back, and want back real bad. So, the chase is on, with Traveler -- his powerful '69 orange Dodge Char...

Collier and Company Highlights - John Schneider movie
Full movie available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2Rib4d0. John Schneider described "Collier & Co: Hot Pursuit" as "an ambitious home movie." Released in 2006, this was Schneider's answer to the 2005 "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. Filmed on a very limited budget and featuring a cast of Schneider's family and friends, "Coller & Co" is an enjoyable flick for Dukes fans. However, it takes a long time to get to where it's going, and the "bad" guys are so mild that there's no real sense of drama.
In the movie, "J.R. Collier" is a race car driver who retired from racing to save his marriage, but stays embroiled in car shenanigans to make a living. He is who he is, and ultimately, this is recognized by Collier's wife, who decides she loves the son-of-a-gun just how he is.

COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! spectacular stunt - car jumping over the river
This is a view of the spectacular jump shot for COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! starring John Schneider, and that's me operating the camera, standing in the river. This was a wonderfully successful stunt.
It might look easy, but we spent a month preparing for this, spent thousands of dollars on modifying the car, had a crew of professional stunt people, and the car was destroyed (as they all are when "jumped"--see the video "hauling out the jump car"). DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.

COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! spectacular stunt - Dodge Charger flies through the air
Spectacular movie stunt for COLLIER & CO.--HOT PURSUIT! starring John Schneider.
This is "Traveler," the 1969 Dodge Charger driven by John Schneider who plays J.R. Collier in this family comedy.
We spent a long time preparing for the shoot of the movie stunt, and everything went even better than planned. We had many safety measures in place, and did not have any need for them. The jump car was driven by a professional stunt driver, the set up was handled by professional stunt people, and the car went straight and clear, leaping about three stories in the air, landing about 100 feet from the lift-off spot!
We had seven cameras rolling, and this view is from the camera set up near where the car was to land. It was un-damaged even though the car landed only 12" away from it.

Ironically, in real life, Schneider put in a lot of effort to save his own marriage, but ended up suffering an expensive, turbulent divorce which ruined him financially. His wife at the time, Elly Castle, co-stars in Collier & Co as his character's wife. This might have hit too close to home. Looking back, the happy ending of Collier & Co seems a tragic juxtaposition to Schneider's own failed marriage.
What you'll see in this compilation is John Schneider's introduction to the movie (edited for length) along with highlights to show the nods to Dukes of Hazzard fans that Schneider purposefully included in the movie. If you liked this movie, or found it lacking, tell me why in the comments! Be sure to Like and Subscribe, too, so you don't miss future vids. Thanks!
