Where are they now? The faces of the January 6 US Capitol riot
A year after Donald Trump urged thousands of his supporters to “fight like hell” just hours before the US Capitol building was overrun on January 6, 2021, authorities in the United States are still prosecuting accused rioters.
More than 700 people have been arrested over the incident, which Democrats often describe as an insurrection that aimed to violently prevent the certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

Donald Trump has been accused of launching an attempted coup by the Congressional committee investigating the riot at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
In a prime-time televised hearing, broadcast live on major US TV channels for two hours on Thursday night, the committee set out its case following a year-long investigation which included 1,000 interviews.
It played 12 minutes of video footage, some of it filmed by British documentary maker Nick Quested, which had never been seen publicly before.
The images showed the extent of the violence as members of the Proud Boys group made the initial breach of the police perimeter around the Capitol.
