Culloden: The Brutal 18th-Century Battle In The Scottish Highlands | Line Of Fire | Absolute History
On 16 April 1746, on Drummossie Moor overlooking Inverness, a well supplied Hanoverian army led by the Duke of Cumberland annihilated the much smaller army of Lord John Murray and the leader he mistrusted, Prince Charles Edward Stuart. It was Bonnie Prince Charlie's final assault on the English, and the bloodiest of all the Jacobite battles. It was also the last battle fought on British soil.

Inglorious Revolutions: Explaining the Jacobite Cause | FULL DOCUMENTARY
If Jacobitism was the answer, what was the question?
Before Bonnie Prince Charlie, Prestonpans or Culloden, before the ‘United Kingdom’ was even a thing, there was the ‘89: the original Jacobite Rising. We’ve often mentioned the Jacobites during our historical forays among the Munros, but we’ve never taken the time to explain their cause.
In this history special, we go back to where it all began - the momentous events of the 17th Century - to find out just who were the Jacobites, and what exactly did they want?

I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As one of Scotland history tour guides people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation of your from the US. So from April 2020 I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

Scotland History Tours is here for people who want to learn about Scottish history and get ideas for Scottish history tours.
As a Scottish history tour guide people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation if your from the US. So I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.
