Michael Delaney Dowd, Jr. (August 11, 1925 – August 11, 2006), known as Mike Douglas, was an American "Big Band" era singer, entertainer, and television talk show host (The Mike Douglas Show).
Early life and career
Douglas was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 1925, and began singing as a choirboy. By his teens he was working as a singer on a Lake Michigan dinner cruise ship. After serving in the United States Navy in World War II and as a "staff singer" for WMAQ-TV in Chicago, he moved to Los Angeles. He was on the Ginny Simms radio show. After that, Douglas joined the big band of Kay Kyser as a singer.
Although big band swing faded from popularity as WWII ended, Kyser had to continue performing due to contractual obligations, and continued to log a few hits with Douglas, including two notable hits, "Ole [or Old] Buttermilk Sky" in 1946 and "The Old Lamplighter" the following year. Kyser was responsible for giving him his show business name, and he continued to perform with the band until Kyser retired in 1951 due to health problems. In 1950, he provided the singing voice of Prince Charming in Walt Disney's Cinderella.

John Winston Ono Lennon, MBE (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 1940–8 December 1980) was an English singer and songwriter who rose to worldwide fame as a co-founder of the band the Beatles, the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music. With fellow member Paul McCartney, he formed a celebrated songwriting partnership.
Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon became involved in the skiffle craze as a teenager; his first band, the Quarrymen, evolved into the Beatles in 1960. When the group disbanded in 1970, Lennon embarked on a solo career that produced the critically acclaimed albums John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, and iconic songs such as "Give Peace a Chance", "Working Class Hero", and "Imagine". After his marriage to Yoko Ono in 1969, he changed his name to John Ono Lennon. Lennon disengaged himself from the music business in 1975 to raise his infant son Sean, but re-emerged with Ono in 1980 with the new album Double Fantasy. He was murdered three weeks after its release.
In 1798 he was in command of the General Keppel, also of Martinique, which was capsized in a white squall on passage from Philadelphia, when Lennon and some of his crew were rescued by a passing schooner, after suffering great perils and hardships. Lennon performed various daring feats in the West Indies in 1806–9; but his most remarkable exploits were in the Hibernia, a Cowes-built barque, carrying six guns and about twenty-two men and boys all told, in which he traded for some years from the West India island of St. Thomas. In 1812 orders were issued that no vessels should leave the island without convoy, on account of the American privateers. The Hibernia and three other merchantmen, whose aggregate cargoes were valued at half a million sterling, had long been waiting. Unwilling to detain them further, Governor Maclean agreed to their sailing without convoy, on condition of Lennon hoisting his pennant as commodore. Although harassed by the Rossie, Commodore Joshua Barney, an American privateer of superior force, Lennon brought his vessels safe into the English Channel on 18 October 1812.
Lennon Wall, or "John Lennon Wall", a wall in Prague, Czech Republic, covered with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles' songs.
"It's So Hard" is a song written and performed by John Lennon which first appeared on his 1971 album Imagine. Shortly after the album's release, the song was released as the B-side to the single "Imagine." In Mexico it was released on an EP with "Imagine," "Oh My Love" and "Gimme Some Truth." In 1986, a live performance from 30 August 1972 was released on Lennon's live album Live in New York City.
Lyrics and music
According to author John Blaney, the lyrics of "It's So Hard" represent a summary of Lennon's struggle with life problems. The lyrics describe one of Lennon's attitudes toward life, complaining about difficulties and the need to eat and love, noting that sometimes things get so difficult he wants to stop trying. He only finds solace with his lover. Author Andrew Grant Jackson interprets the song as demonstrating the difficulty in achieving the utopia vision in his song "Imagine," which was released as the A-side of the single including "It's So Hard," due to the drudgery of everyday life. The song incorporates double entendres such as "going down," which is used to mean "giving up" early in the song, but refers to oral sex later in the song. Even the title phrase "it's so hard" serves as a sexual double entendre when used in the portion of the song describing when the singer is with his lover and things are good.
"It’s So Hard" is the first single by Big Pun from his 2000 second album Yeeeah Baby. It features singer Donell Jones and was produced by Younglord. It was the first single released following his sudden death two months prior.
John Lennon & Yoko Ono - The Mike Douglas Show, 14/02/1972 (Legendado PT-BR)
