Failing Infrastructure, Low Rainfall Leave One Iranian Province Fighting For Water
Iran's southwestern Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province has a wealth of water resources -- but a combination of poor management and low rainfall this year has left residents with barely enough to drink. Iran's government systematically cracks down on the free flow of information and those who speak to foreign media may be subject to persecution. For that reason, the identities of the interviewees are not disclosed and their faces are blurred.

Iran's Raisi Dies in Chopper Crash, Five Days of Mourning Declared | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a devastating helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan Province on May 19. His remains were discovered by rescue teams today (May 20). Initial investigations suggest that Raisi's helicopter crashed due to a possible mechanical failure, attributed to the outdated nature of the chopper. The crash also resulted in the death of Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and one of Raisi's five close aides. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has declared five days of mourning and assured continuity in governance by appointing Vice President Mohammad Mokhber as interim President. Iran now stands at a critical juncture, seeking leadership to navigate through West Asia's volatile landscape. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you more about the implications of Raisi's death for Iran's future.
