São Paulo (Portuguese pronunciation:[sɐ̃w ˈpawlu]) is a state in Brazil. It is the major industrial and economic powerhouse of the Brazilian economy. Named after Saint Paul, São Paulo has the largest population, industrial complex, and economic production in the country. It is the richest state in Brazil. The capital, São Paulo, is also the largest city in South America (and the Southern Hemisphere).
Often dubbed the "locomotive of Brazil", the state alone is responsible for 40% of the Brazilian GDP, being the state with the highest GDP. In addition to increased GDP, São Paulo also has the highest Human Development Index, the highest GDP per capita, the second lowest infant mortality rate and the fourth lowest rate of illiteracy among the states of Brazil.
With 44,035,304 inhabitants in 2014, São Paulo is the most populous state in Brazil and the third most populous political unit of South America, only surpassed by that country and Colombia, ahead of all other South American countries. São Paulo's capital city is ranked thirteenth among the largest cities on the planet and its metropolitan area, with 20,935,204 inhabitants, is the seventh largest in the world.
São Paulo Futebol Clube (Portuguese pronunciation:[sɐ̃w ˈpawlu fuʧiˈbɔw ˈklubi]), simply known as São Paulo, is a professional football club, based in São Paulo, Brazil.
Founded in 1930, São Paulo was an inaugural member of the Clube dos 13 group of Brazil's leading football clubs. The club's most consistent spell of success came in the 1990s, under coach Telê Santana, when it won three state titles, one national championship, two Copa Libertadores, two Recopa Sudamericanas, two Intercontinental Cups, one Supercopa Sudamericana, one Copa CONMEBOL, one Copa Masters CONMEBOL.
Ipiranga (Portuguese pronunciation:[ipiˈɾɐ̃ɡa], from the Tupi (y, river; pirang, red) for "red river") is an historical district located in the subprefecture of the same name of São Paulo, Brazil. The name Ipiranga comes from the river (which now is a brook) of the same name located in the region, which means "red river" in a Tupí–Guaraní language. The Independence Park (Parque da Independência), where supposedly the Emperor Pedro I of Brazil proclaimed the independence of Brazil, the Paulista Museum, which exhibits classic architecture and a collection of Brazilian colonial artifacts, and the Museum of Zoology of the University of São Paulo, are also located in Ipiranga.
The region near the Tamanduateí River had industrial characteristics, to the point where buses and trams heading there had the destination labeled "Factory". The area next to Nazaré Avenue, in contrast, is filled with mansions of wealthy families and an amount of colleges, like Unesp and São Camilo, and workers of the factorys houses.
São Paulo was launched on 19 April 1909 and commissioned on 12 July 1910. Soon after, she was involved in the Revolt of the Lash (Revolta de Chibata), in which crews on four Brazilian warships mutinied over poor pay and harsh punishments for even minor offenses. After entering the First World War, Brazil offered to send São Paulo and her sisterMinas Geraes to Britain for service with the Grand Fleet, but Britain declined since both vessels were in poor condition and lacked the latest fire control technology. In June 1918 Brazil sent São Paulo to the United States for a full refit that was not completed until 7 January 1920, well after the war had ended. On 6 July 1922, São Paulofired her guns in anger for the first time when she attacked a fort that had been taken during the Tenente revolts. Two years later, mutineers took control of the ship and sailed her to Montevideo where they obtained asylum.
This is the very place where Brazil became independent from Portugal in 1822!
There's a 'hidden gem' at round 1:15 which absolutely cracked me up 😂 try to find it!

The Monument to the Independence of Brazil:
Also called the monumento do #ipiranga or #altar da Pátria, is a sculptural set in granite and bronze belonging to the Independence Park. It is located in the city of São Paulo, on the banks of the Riacho do Ipiranga, in the historic place where D. Pedro I would have proclaimed Brazil's independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves on September 7, 1822. The Monument was inaugurated as part of the commemorations of the centenary of independence, in 1922, although it was completed only four years later. The monument was inaugurated still incomplete in 1922, having been completed four years later, in 1926. It is an integral part of the urban complex of Parque da Independência, where you can also find the monument-building erected in 1890, which today houses the Ipiranga Museum, in addition to the Casa do Grito.
The Independence Park:
Inaugurated in 1989, on the banks of the stream in the Ipiranga neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo, is part of the Brazilian cultural heritage due to the country's Cry for Independence, proclaimed there by D. Pedro I. It emerged from the concern in uniting the Ipiranga region as a space of national memory and patriotism, in addition to being a way of preserving and demarcating space and also a way of making a collective memory common. Ipiranga Museum, the Independence Monument and the Casa do Grito, in addition to a dense forest and extensive landscaping work on the path between the Monument and the Museum. There are also the recently created French gardens.
Paulista Museum of the University of São Paulo:
Also known as Museu do Ipiranga or Museu Paulista, is the oldest public museum in the city of #sãopaulo, whose headquarters is a monument-building that is part of the architectural complex of Parque da Independência. It is the most important museum of the University of São Paulo and one of the most visited in the capital of São Paulo. The museum was officially opened on September 7, 1895 under the name Museum of Natural History. This important symbol of the Independence of Brazil has been linked to the University of São Paulo since 1963, as a scientific, cultural and educational institution that carries out research, teaching and extension activities in the field of History. It is responsible for a large collection of objects, furniture and works of art with historical relevance, especially those related to the independence of Brazil and the corresponding historical period. One of the best-known works in its collection is the painting "Independência ou Morte", painted by the artist Pedro Américo, in 1888, receiving an average of 350,000 visits per year. In addition to exhibitions, the activities of the Ipiranga Museum extend through educational programs, such as courses and scientific research that make use of the institution's human resources and permanent collection. The expansion of collections is done through donations or acquisitions and an important part of the activities developed at the museum involves the physical conservation, study and documentation of the collection. In 1922, during the Centenary of Independence, new collections were formed, mainly covering subjects from the History of São Paulo, and the internal decoration of the building was carried out, with paintings and sculptures in the Lobby, Staircase and Noble Room that presented the History of Brazil, in order to reinforce the institution as a Brazilian histoical symbol. It was at this time that the Republican Museum “Convenção de Itu” was installed, an extension of the Museu Paulista in the interior of the State of São Paulo. In August 2013, the museum was closed to the public "for works, restorations and repairs" after a study found that the structure of the building was shaken. After nine years of work, the museum was officially reopened on September 6, 2022, as part of the celebrations of the bicentennial.

This is the very place where Brazil became independent from Portugal in 1822!
There's a 'hidden gem' at round 1:15 which absolutely cracked me up 😂 try to find it!

Ipiranga is a historical district located in the subprefecture of the same name of São Paulo, Brazil.

Vem com a gente viajar pelo nossa história nesse que virou um dos passeios mais imperdíveis para se fazer em São Paulo.
