Barack Obama takes on 'woke' call-out culture: 'That's not activism'
The former US president Barack Obama has spoken against call-out culture. 'I do get a sense sometimes now among certain young people ... that the way of me making change is to be as judgmental as possible about other people and that's enough.' Obama said that achieving change was a much more difficult issue than simply using social media. 'That is not activism, that is not bringing about change. If all you're doing is casting stones, you are probably not going to get that far,' the 44th US president said at the thir Obama Foundation summit on Tuesday.

Art as activism | Marcus Ellsworth | TEDxUTChattanooga
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Marcus Ellsworth will be taking a look at how art can become a road map for progress as we ask the question "What Now?" Citing examples from world history as well as Chattanooga's present, Marcus will pose the idea that one of the best ways to answer that question is by looking at the creative output of Chattanooga’s citizens. The answers can be found in the music, writing, and even the graffiti of Chattanooga’s most under-served populations. We can use art to engage in meaningful discussions and purposeful action to make Chattanooga better for everyone.

Activism today can take many different forms. Sokeel Park works with defectors from North Korea to accelerate change in the dictatorship. Nimko Ali leads a global campaign to end the barbaric practice of female genital mutilation. Richard Ratcliffe campaigns for the release of his wife from an Iranian prison. Three different activists talk about their campaigns and what they think it takes to be an activist in the 21st century.
If you look at activism around the world there seems to be an amazing sort of flowering of different approaches being taken to tackle these deep-seated problems. What does it take to bring about change in today’s world?
Nimko Ali’s activism grew from her personal experience as a survivor of female genital mutilation or FGM.
Richard Ratcliffe became an activist in 2016 when his wife Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was accused of plotting to overthrow the Iranian government.
The most important thing is to keep that hope that the world can be different, the world should be different and, you know, by God will I make it.

Marcus Ellsworth is a spoken word artist and emcee working in the Chattanooga area. He hosts and organizes Wide Open Floor, a monthly open mic performance art showcase at Barking Legs Theater. He is also the president of Tennessee Valley Pride and co-chair for Tennessee Equality Project’s Hamilton and Bradley County Committee.
Marcus has spent much of the past eight years honing his skills as an artist and working to help build community around art and issues of social justice.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Richard Dawkins - "What if you're wrong?" South Park
Well here's another Dawkins themed upload. Had the urge to try my hand at some animation and some new software, I think it turned out quite well. For some reason I decided to recreate the popular "What if you're wrong?" clip on youtube featuring Richard Dawkins lecture in Lynchburg.
Watch the full lecture here http://fora.tv/2006/10/23/Richard_Dawkins
I did have some ideas for some different endings but I thought I would just keep it faithful to the original. Feel free to send me your ideas on amusing variations...

Johnson takes on the Archbishop of Canterbury - BBC Newsnight
Please subscribe HERE http://bit.ly/1rbfUog
On Easter Sunday, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, described the government's plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda as "opposite the nature of God".
But the Prime Minister hit back, claiming in a meeting with MPs that the Archbishop had criticised the Rwanda deal more than Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Labour leader Keir Starmer called on the Prime Minister to apologise for his comments, but Johnson refused.
#Newsnight’s Political Editor Nick Watt explains how the spat came about, and the history between the Church and politics.
