The Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) is a non-profit, nonpartisan 501(c)(6) professional organization for public and private sector members of the United States Intelligence Community, based in Arlington, Virginia.
History
INSA was established as the Security Affairs Support Association (SASA) in 1979 to bring together professionals in the intelligence field, primarily focused on the National Security Agency and to help members keep abreast of intelligence and national security community issues. SASA's main office was in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
In November 2005, SASA's Board of Directors voted to change its name to the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) so as to expand its reach across the intelligence and national security communities and better serve the community in the aftermath of the creation of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).
Mission
INSA is the premier intelligence and national security organization that provides a unique venue for collaboration, networking and examination of policy issues and solutions. Representing an unprecedented alliance among senior leaders from the public, private and academic sectors, INSA members form an unparalleled community of experts that collaborate to develop creative, innovative and timely solutions to the intelligence and national security issues facing the United States.
Collective security can be understood as a security arrangement, political, regional, or global, in which each state in the system accepts that the security of one is the concern of all, and therefore commits to a collective response to threats to, and breaches to peace. Collective security is more ambitious than systems of alliance security or collective defense in that it seeks to encompass the totality of states within a region or indeed globally, and to address a wide range of possible threats. While collective security is an idea with a long history, its implementation in practice has proved problematic. Several prerequisites have to be met for it to have a chance of working.
History
Early mentions
Collective security is one of the most promising approaches for peace and a valuable device for power management on an international scale. Cardinal Richelieu proposed a scheme for collective security in 1629, which was partially reflected in the 1648 Peace of Westphalia. In the eighteenth century many proposals were made for collective security arrangements, especially in Europe.

In today’s episode, we are going to take a look at the details of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). For more interesting insights, don’t go anywhere and stay tuned!.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a military-political alliance comprised of six post-Soviet states: Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The CSTO, like NATO, was established to protect its members from military aggression. An attack on one country is considered the same as an attack on all states. Members of the CSTO are also prohibited from joining other military alliances.

Russian cosplay of NATO: how Collective Security Treaty Organization falls apart
Armenia refused to conduct Collective Security Treaty Organization exercises on its territory. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. He called the teachings "unreasonable." This was Armenia's response to the statements of the Russian Ministry of Defense on January 1st. They announced that there would be CSTO exercises in Armenia. And this is despite the fact that Yerevan, back in November last year, declared its unwillingness to conduct maneuvers on its territory. Why Russia's actions run counter to the wishes of their partners in the CSTO, and why this organization is heading towards collapse - watch the story.
