Bottin Presents Tinpong - Jabberwock (Original)
The nifty collaboration between Italian-stalion Bottin and Swiss-Miss Joy Freypong (aka Tinpong) bears us fruit once more. Their second Nang release (after the top selling cover of New Religion) is the Lewis Caroll themed Jabberwock EP.
The original of Jabberwock is a catchy poppy number which is all cool...... but it's the big-room, floor-stomping mixes from Faze Actions, Robin Lee (in his Rudys Midnight Machine guise) that get our feet-a-tapping. Yes folks this is a 12" headed straight for the floor. We also include the scat-fueled groover called "Cut Up" and the 80's tinted DX grooves and flow of Diggin' Side. As a digital bonus we also have snuck in more Alice in Wonderland inspired craziness with the tracks "Little Hare" and "Humpty Dumpty".

After a long break (6 years!) mysterious ARTIFACT label is back with a new private pressing of juicy Bottin re-edits. Fist off, ''Domenica'' is an upbeat synthesizer disco number, complete with happy chanting and funny instrumental hooks. Second track ''Cha Cha Cha'' leans towards Italian new wave, with English, French and Spanish vocals. Maybe what Tom Tom Club could have sounded like - if they were from Milan. Side B starts with a thick, throbbing funk groove ''Chico Train'', topped by hilarious narration of a surreal train ride to, station to station. The closing number ''Vital Grace'' is a dark, sexy disco thing, with lush female vocals and over-the-top strings. As often in all things Bottin, this EP is all-Italian affair - Vinyl-only and very limited quantities as usual.
