The King's Singers are a Britisha cappellavocal ensemble founded in 1968. They are named after King's College in Cambridge, England, where the group was formed by six choral scholars. In the United Kingdom, their popularity peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s. Thereafter they began to reach a wider international audience, appearing frequently on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in the U.S. In 1987, they were prominently featured as guests on the Emmy Award winning ABC-TV special Julie Andrews: The Sound of Christmas.
Today the ensemble travels worldwide for its performances, appearing in around 125 concerts each year, mostly in Europe, the U.S. and the Far East, having recently added the People's Republic of China to their list of touring territories. In recent years the group have had several UK appearances at the Royal Albert Hall Proms and concerts as part of the Three Choirs Festival and the City of London Festival.
History
The group has always consisted of six singers in total, with their membership changing over the years. None of the original members remain. The first stable incarnation of the group, from late 1969 until 1978, comprised:
"Hush, Little Baby" is a traditional lullaby, thought to have been written in the Southern United States. Like most folk songs, the author and date of origin are unknown. The lyrics promise all kinds of rewards to the child if he or she is quiet. The simple structure allows more verses to be added ad lib.
Kit is a high school student living with her 40-year-old stepmother and her father. As she retrieves a sweatshirt from her father's house, she is approached by her disheveled ex-stepmother, Dusty Innes. Kit is stunned when Dusty hands Kit a newborn baby and a diaper bag before driving away, not even bothering to tell Kit his name.
To the best of her ability, Kit tries to care for the baby, who she names Sam. The doorbell rings, so she opens the door. She finds a shabby looking man standing before her, looking for Dusty. Kit denies any knowledge of Dusty's baby and claims that she hasn't seen Dusty in a while. Kit shuts the door, but she suspects that the man is trying to look into the windows. Feeling threatened, she grabs a disposable camera and takes a picture of his license plate. Finding nothing, the man leaves.
Kit decides to bring Sam back to her mother's house when Rowen Mason, Kit's potential boyfriend, arrives in tow with his nine years old sister, Muffin. Kit then receives a call from a lady named Cinda, who explains the whole situation. Apparently, Cinda and her husband, Burt, were supposed to adopt Dusty's baby, and the man who came to Kit's house earlier was Dusty's cousin. Kit is reassured by Cinda and promises to deliver Sam to her.
"Hush Little Baby" is a song by English rapper Wretch 32 which appears on his debut studio album, Black and White. The song is track thirteen on the standard edition of the album, and one of eleven collaborations; currently set to be released as the fifth and final single from the album on 27 May 2012. The song, which features singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, was produced by the team TMS and co-written alongside Iain James. The track debuted at number eighty-seven on the UK Singles Chart and number twelve on the independent chart on 3 September 2011 following strong downloading from the respective album. The song is an adaptation of the American lullaby, Hush, Little Baby. In reviewing the album, BBC Music representative Joseph 'JP' Patterson stated "unlike many other albums where the central MC is joined by several contributors, the collaborations, including Sheeran, Chipmunk and Etta Bond, don't take away any shine from the artist at the core of this release".
Articles in the English language are the definite article the and the indefinite articles a and an. Use of the definite article implies that the speaker assumes the listener knows the identity of the noun's referent (because it is obvious, because it is common knowledge, or because it was mentioned in the same sentence or an earlier sentence). Use of an indefinite article implies that the speaker assumes the listener does not have to be told the identity of the referent. In some noun phrases no article is used.
Use of articles
The rules of English grammar require that in most cases a noun, or more generally a noun phrase, must be "completed" with a determiner to clarify what the referent of the noun phrase is. The most common determiners are the articlesthe and a(n), which specify the presence or absence of definiteness of the noun. Other possible determiners include words like this, my, each and many– see English determiners. There are also cases where no determiner is required, as in the sentence John likes fast cars. Or the sentence Bob likes cool trains.
In linguistics, a word is the smallest element that may be uttered in isolation with semantic or pragmatic content (with literal or practical meaning). This contrasts deeply with a morpheme, which is the smallest unit of meaning but will not necessarily stand on its own. A word may consist of a single morpheme (for example: oh!, rock, red, quick, run, expect), or several (rocks, redness, quickly, running, unexpected), whereas a morpheme may not be able to stand on its own as a word (in the words just mentioned, these are -s, -ness, -ly, -ing, un-, -ed).
A complex word will typically include a root and one or more affixes (rock-s, red-ness, quick-ly, run-ning, un-expect-ed), or more than one root in a compound (black-board, rat-race). Words can be put together to build larger elements of language, such as phrases (a red rock), clauses (I threw a rock), and sentences (He threw a rock too, but he missed).
The term word may refer to a spoken word or to a written word, or sometimes to the abstract concept behind either. Spoken words are made up of units of sound called phonemes, and written words of symbols called graphemes, such as the letters of the English alphabet.

This anthem - originally written by Harry Dixon Loes as a Christian children's song - became a musical symbol of the civil rights movement in the 1960s and 70s. It's a song that brought people together at that time of challenge and strife, united by its central message of confidence and peace. The arrangement was made by Stacey V. Gibbs for our 'Finding Harmony' album which we released in 2020.

Why do I do, just as you say Why must I just, give you your way Why do I sigh, why don't I try to forget It must have been, That something lovers call fate Kept me saying: "I have to wait" I saw them all, Just couldn't fall 'til we met It had to be you, it had to be you I wandered around, and finally found The somebody who Could make me be true, And could make me be blue And even be glad, just to be sad Thinking of you Some others I've seen, Might never be mean Might never be cross, Or try to be boss But they wouldn't do For nobody else, gave me a thrill With all your faults, I Love you still It had to be you, wonderful you It had to be you
