Robert Bernard Sherman was born on December 19, 1925, in New York City, to Russian Jewish immigrants, Rosa (Dancis) and Al Sherman. Al Sherman, a songwriter, paid for Robert's hospital delivery costs with a royalty check that had arrived that day for the song "Save Your Sorrow". His brother and later songwriting partner, Richard, was born in 1928. Sherman's father later became a well known Tin Pan Alley songwriter.
The Tigger Movie is a 2000 American animatedmusicaldramedy film co-written and directed by Jun Falkenstein. Part of the Winnie-the-Pooh series, this film features Pooh's friend Tigger searching for his family tree and other Tiggers like himself.
The film was the first feature-length theatrical Pooh film that was not a collection of previously released shorts.
The film features original songs from the Sherman Brothers. Originally, the film was originally slated for a direct-to-video release, until then–Disney CEO Michael Eisner heard the Sherman Brothers' score, and decided to release the film in theaters worldwide.

Richard Sherman sings Tigger's "The Scrapbook Song"
Before "The Tigger Movie," came to be, Richard and Robert Sherman were engaged to compose a theme song for an upcoming Disney home video sing-along release called "Sing A Song With Tigger." This was the first time they had been engaged to write for Disney in a while. Both brothers came to Harry Arends' office at TV IS OK Productions on October 19, 1999 with the new song. Here Richard Sherman introduces and performs for the first time
