Insults, shouting and chaos at House committee hearing
Two House committees moved ahead Thursday with contempt charges against Attorney General Merrick Garland for refusing to turn over audio from President Joe Biden’s interview with a special counsel, advancing the matter after the White House's decision to block the release of the recording earlier in the day.
In back-to-back hearings that nearly spilled into early Friday, the House Judiciary and Oversight and Accountability committees voted along party lines to advance an effort to hold Garland in contempt of Congress for not turning over the records.
But the timing of any action by the full House, and the willingness of the U.S. attorney’s office to act on the referral, remained uncertain.

AOC then weighed in saying, "I do have a point of order, and I would like to move to take down Ms. Green’s words. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person... move her words down."
"Are your feelings hurt?" Greene asked.
"Oh girl, baby girl!" Ocasio-Cortez shot back. "Don’t even play!"

Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene said Democrat Jasmine Crockett's false eyelashes were apparently interfering with her vision.
Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Greene's words "absolutely unacceptable."
She moved to have them struck from the Congressional record.
She also addressed Greene as "baby girl," while Greene asked if her feelings were hurt.
More shouting broke out when Crockett asked how a representative "talking about somebody's bleach blond bad built butch body" would fit into the committee rules.

Greene later agreed to strike her words but refused to apologize and insulted Ocasio-Cortez's intelligence.
"You will never get an apology out of me," Greene said.
Later in the hearing, after recess, Crockett stirred up chaos again.
"I'm just curious, just to better understand your ruling," Crockett said. "If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleach blonde, bad built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?"
