"Remix (I Like The)" did not enter the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, becoming their first lead single to fail charting since "Be My Girl" (1986). Instead, the song peaked at number 38 on the Adult Pop Songs chart.
Critical reception
PopCrush gave the song 3.5 stars out of five. In her review Jessica Sager wrote, "The song sounds like an adult contemporary answer to The Wanted mixed with Bruno Mars‘ ‘Locked Out of Heaven.’ It has a danceable beat like many of the British bad boys’ tracks, but is stripped down and raw enough to pass for Mars’ latest radio smash as well." Carl Williott of Idolator commended the song's chorus, but criticized its "liberal use of Auto-Tune" and compared Donnie Wahlberg's vocals to Chad Kroeger.
"Heaven" is a song recorded by American rapper Jay-Z from his twelfth studio album Magna Carta Holy Grail (2013) featuring American recording artist Justin Timberlake. The song was written by Jay-Z, The-Dream, members of R.E.M., Adrian Younge, Timbaland, and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon while the production was handled by the latter two. During the song, Jay-Z touches on subjects of religious allegory and an interrogation of organized religion. The song has since peaked at number 10 on the BillboardBubbling Under Hot 100 Singles.
Background
On "Heaven", Jay-Z questions the meaning of religion and once again shoots down rumors that he is part of the secret organization Illuminati. He explained the song in a promotional video for Samsung saying,
The song indulges in religious allegory, and is one of the few songs on Magna Carta Holy Grail that touch upon existential and spiritual themes. Throughout the song he ponders faith, superstition and free thinking.
The songs features Jay-Z rapping a lyric of rock band, R.E.M.'s 1991 single "Losing My Religion". Following the album's release, former frontman of R.E.M. Michael Stipe told NME that he's "thrilled" and it was a "great honor", that Jay-Z included the lyrics in one of his songs.
"Heaven" is the title of a popular song from 2004 by the AmericanTejano/Chicano rock band Los Lonely Boys. The song was written by brothers Henry, Jojo and Ringo Garza, who comprise the foundation of the band, and it appears on their multi-platinum self-titled album.
Reception
Released as a single in mid-2004, "Heaven" reached the Top 40 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at 16 in August. Later that year, the song began a sixteen week run at number 1 on the BillboardAdult Contemporary chart in October. It was also a minor hit at country radio, where it peaked at number 46.
AllMusic reviewer Thom Jurek describes the song as "infectious" and draws comparisons to the music of Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Los Lobos. He states that "Heaven" is "a single in the old sense of the word: killer hook, easy groove, a slippery but unmistakable bridge with a beautiful vocal to boot -- all coming in under four minutes."
"Heaven (Must Be There)" (sometimes shortened to just "Heaven") is a song by Eurogliders from their album This Island. The song was released as a 7" vinyl and a 12" in May 1984.
The single brought the band to fame, especially in Australia, where the single peaked at No.2 on Kent Music Report Singles Chart in 1984. It was also a major hit in New Zealand, peaking at No.6, and a more modest hit in North America, hitting No.47 in Canada, and No.65 in the US.
James Rockhill (born 20 May 1990), better known by his stage name Kove, is a British electronic music producer and DJ. His song "Way We Are", featuring Melissa Steel, entered the UK Singles Chart at number 30.
Career
2012–13: Early beginnings
Rockhill signed his debut double A-side single "Stellar" / "Breach" to Viper Recordings in 2012. It was released on 5 March 2012. His second single, "Iodine" / "Open Ground" was released on Andy C's Program on 8 October 2012. Rockhill released "Gone" / "Airlock" through Program in early 2013. Later in the year, he signed to Chase & Status's label MTA Records, remixing their comeback single "Lost & Not Found" and releasing his debut EP Measures through the label. The EP's first track, "Love for You", received heavy airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra and marked the start of his commercial breakthrough.
2014–present: Breakthrough
Following remixes for Bastille and John Newman, he released the double A-side "Gobble" / "Melisma" through MTA on 16 February 2014. His first charting single, "Way We Are", was released in July 2014 and entered the UK Singles Chart at number 30. His next EP, Murmurations, was released on 5 October 2014 and includes the song "Drop" (premiered by Annie Mac).
The holding is a court's determination of a matter of law based on the issue presented in the particular case. In other words: under this law, with these facts, this result. It is the same as a 'decision' made by the judge; however "decision" can also refer to the judge's entire opinion, containing, for example, a discussion of facts, issues, and law as well as the holding.
Appellate Review
"The word 'holding' is indefinite and may refer to a trial ruling of the court upon evidence or other questions presented during the trial. Of course, no oral statement made by the court at the close of a trial, nor any written memorandum opinion filed, may be assigned as error on appeal, as the final decision in a law action is the judgment signed, based upon the court's findings of fact and conclusions of law."
Obiter Dictum (almost always shortened to "dictum" or, when plural, dicta in legal contexts; not to be confused with the broader meaning of dictum outside of a legal context - one of authority, as opposed to persuasiveness [at best] without being binding)
In American football and Canadian football, a penalty is a sanction called against a team for a violation of the rules, called a foul. Officials initially signal penalties by tossing a bright yellow (American Football) or orange (Canadian football) colored "penalty flag" onto the field toward or at the spot of a foul. Many penalties result in moving the football toward the offending team's end zone, usually either 5, 10, or 15 yards, depending on the penalty. Most penalties against the defensive team also result in giving the offense an automatic first down, while a few penalties against the offensive team cause them to automatically lose a down. In some cases, depending on the spot of the foul, the ball is moved half the distance to the goal line rather than the usual number of yards, or the defense scores an automatic safety.
Rationale
Because football is a high-contact sport requiring a balance between offense and defense, many rules exist that regulate equality, safety, contact, and actions of players on each team. It is very difficult to always avoid violating these rules without giving up too much of an advantage. Thus, an elaborate system of fouls and penalties has been developed to "let the punishment fit the crime" and maintain a balance between following the rules and keeping a good flow of the game. Players and coaches are constantly looking for ways to find an advantage that stretches the limitations imposed by the rules. Also, the frequency and severity of fouls can make a large difference in the outcome of a game, so coaches are constantly looking for ways to minimize the number and severity of infractions committed by their players.
