Frank Bryant became a session musician in the mid-1960s in his hometown Detroit, while Jimmy was completing military service. His early credits included the bassline on Gino Washington's "Gino Is a Coward" and vocals on J.J. Barnes' "Lonely No More" at Mickay's Records. Frank also co-wrote J.J.'s "Deeper in Love", and Steve Mancha's "Let's Party."
After Jimmy's return, the Bryant Brothers were recruited into a session group for Winifred Terry of the Drifters by the group's drummer Richard Allen. The session was intended to record a song called "Honey" and a B-side. The musical tracks were completed when the hired vocalist was deemed unfit to record the song. Frank took the opportunity to point out his and Jimmy's vocal talent. Convinced by Bryant, Terry agreed to give them a stab at recording the two songs. At the subsequent session Bryant Brothers sang on "Honey" and their songs "Things Will Get Better" and "She Broke His Heart."
"High Energy" is a dance/disco song by The Supremes. Released as the album's title-track single in 1976 from their penultimate album High Energy, this energic, sound-bursting tune featured lead vocals by Susaye Greene. Greene, new to the group, was brought in to dub her vocals although Scherrie Payne had already recorded lead vocals prior to Greene's entry into the trio. As such, this was the final single to feature former member Cindy Birdsong's vocals, and the sixth and final single of the group to feature four members. Written by Harold Beatty, Brian Holland and Edward Holland, Jr., the song peaked at position nine on the dance/disco charts later that same year.
The penultimate studio album released by the group, the Supremes began recording High Energy in December 1975, when its lineup consisted of Scherrie Payne, Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong. Birdsong left the group in February 1976, and her replacement, Susaye Greene, was overdubbed on two tracks, including "I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do the Walking". Greene also assumed lead vocal duties on the title track. Along with Meet The Supremes and Reflections, these are the only studio albums to include four members of the group rather than the usual three. (Let the Sunshine In and Cream of the Crop both had Florence Ballard appear on a previously recorded track for each album, though she had long been dismissed from the group).
This song is probably one of the greatest dance songs of the 80s. It was released in 1984. Everytime it was played in the clubs in 1984, it automatically filled the dance floors. I can never figure out why it was never played on the radio in the U.S. From what I read, it was a huge hit all around the world.
The only explanation is that the "anti-disco" movement of 1980 really hurt "dance recordings" in the 80s. Radio DJs won't play dance music on the radio. Madonna was probably one of the few artists that was able to get away with it, though LOL Clubbers actually knew she was the new DISCO QUEEN of the 80s xD

My biggest ever hit, made in 1984 for Record Shack Records, which sold seven million worldwide. How they ever went bust after that is a mystery, but I stepped in and rescued the whole catalogue from the liquidator. I discovered Evelyn while holding auditions in 1975 in Chicago, arranged by Danny Leake, who I'd met the year before, in England, with his group, 100% Pure Poison. In February 1976, Evelyn's first record, "Weak Spot" and a song by a young Chicago postman, L.J. The entire music business was flummoxed as to how two completely unknown young black singers from Chicago, who had never even recorded before, both had hits on entirely different labels in the same week as each other. It was a further eight years before Evelyn went on to record her classic, the seven million selling "High Energy", and I wish I could have a few more of those.

The original 80s 2LP series started with Volume 1 in 1984 and ended in 1989 with Volume 13 and a compilation "Best Of High Energy Double Dance".
High Energy Double Dance was the biggest, most successful dance series of the 80s in S.A.

High energy - your love is lifting me.
Ohoh high energy -
Your love is liffing me
lifting me high.
It was only last week that we first met
When I was walking down the street.
You came up from behind me and
I knew that our eyes were gonna meet.
That's when I fell into your arms
Imagine my surprise.
I thought this only happened in fairy tales.
Love hit me right between the eyes
oh yeah.
High energy - your love is lifting me.
Ohoh high energy -
Your love is liffing me
lifting me high.
When you call me on the phone you make my spirits rise.
I'm glad the others didn't last
it's a blessing in disguise.
Everytime you're touching me
it gives me such a thrill.
When I look deep into your eyes
my heart just can't keep still.

That's when I fell into your arms
Imagine my surprise.
I thought this only happened in fairy tales.
Love hit me right between the eyes
oh yeah.
High energy - your love is lifting me.
Ohoh high energy -
Your love is liffing me
lifting me high.
When you call me on the phone you make my spirits rise.
I'm glad the others didn't last
it's a blessing in disguise.
Everytime you're touching me
it gives me such a thrill.
When I look deep into your eyes
my heart just can't keep still.
High energy - your love is lifting me.
Ohoh high....
