Infante Henrique of Portugal, Duke of Viseu (4 March 1394 – 13 November 1460), better known as Henry the Navigator(Portuguese:Henrique, o Navegador) was an important figure in 15th-century Portuguese politics and in the early days of the Portuguese Empire. Through his administrative direction, he is regarded as the main initiator of what would be known as the Age of Discoveries. Henry was the third child of the Portuguese king John I and responsible for the early development of Portuguese exploration and maritime trade with other continents through the systematic exploration of Western Africa, the islands of the Atlantic Ocean, and the search for new routes.
King John I was the founder of the House of Aviz. Henry encouraged his father to conquer Ceuta (1415), the Muslim port on the North African coast across the Straits of Gibraltar from the Iberian Peninsula. He learned of the opportunities from the Saharan trade routes that terminated there, and became fascinated with Africa in general; he was most intrigued by the Christian legend of Prester John and the expansion of Portuguese trade. Henry is regarded as the patron of Portuguese exploration.
The work was developed during Lim's stay in 2007/2008 in Berlin; on 9 March 2008, excerpts were performed with the ELISION ensemble conducted by Simon Hewett at the MaerzMusik Festival, part of the Berliner Festspiele.
Wealthy Rollo Treadway (Buster Keaton) suddenly decides to propose to his neighbor across the street, Betsy O'Brien (Kathryn McGuire), and sends his servant to book passage for a honeymoon sea cruise to Honolulu. When Betsy rejects his sudden offer however, he decides to go on the trip anyway, boarding without delay that night. Because the pier number is partially covered, he ends up on the wrong ship, the Navigator, which Betsy's rich father (Frederick Vroom) has just sold to a small country at war.
Agents for the other small nation in the conflict decide to set the ship adrift that same night. When Betsy's father checks up on the ship, he is captured and tied up ashore by the saboteurs. Betsy hears his cry for help and boards the ship to look for him, just before it is cut loose.
The Navigator drifts out into the Pacific Ocean. The two unwitting passengers eventually find each other. At first, they have great difficulty looking after themselves (as they had servants to do that for them), but adapt after a few weeks. At one point, they sight a navy ship and hoist a brightly colored flag, not realizing it signals that the ship is under quarantine. As a result, the other vessel turns away.
We start a new series where the Reconquista left off. With the fall of Granada, the Age of Discovery begins! First up is Henry the Navigator. Henry was the son of John I. He set Portugal on the fast path to discovery. His patronage allowed for the exploration of the coast of Africa, naval improvements like the Caravel, and he was renowned as creating his famous School of Navigation (which may not have existed).

What Started The Age Of Exploration? | The Face Of The World | Absolute History
Historians recognize three motives for European exploration into the New World: God, gold, and glory. People throughout history and across continents all attempted to create a picture of our world. How do human beings know what lies beyond the sea? Did Marco Polo have an atlas to show him the route to China? Did the Romans record the borders of their vast empire on maps? For thousands of years, unknown distant lands guarded their secrets and yet, they were described in travel books. The Face of The World has fascinated people of every age and culture.

A time of learning from time again uncover the past mistakes A way to freedom thru education is real, so the prophet speak Using the new love to navigate thru a dark and confusing time Leave no room for the sinister Giving in to hate is a crime Freedom is more than the right to speak so first out make up your mind Out of the isolation tank and put your ear to the ground While some say "love is all you need" and some try to buy the world All are waiting for the act of kindness so start out by DOING GOOD.
