Hưng Hà is a rural district (huyện) of Thái Bình Province in the Red River Delta region of Vietnam. As of 2003 the district had a population of 252,912. The district covers an area of 200km². The district capital lies at Hưng Hà.
The Red River (Chinese:t紅河, s红河, pHóng Hé; Vietnamese:Sông Hồng), also known as the Hồng Hà and Sông Cái (lit."MotherRiver") in Vietnamese and the Yuan River (元江, Yuán Jiāng) in Chinese, is a river that flows from Yunnan in southwest China through northern Vietnam to the Gulf of Tonkin. According to C. Michael Hogan, the associated Red River Fault was instrumental in forming the entire South China Sea at least as early as 37 million years before present.
Geography
The Red River begins in China's Yunnan province in the mountains south of Dali. It flows generally southeastward, passing through Dai ethnic minority areas before leaving China through Yunnan's Honghe Autonomous Prefecture. It enters Vietnam at Lào Cai Province. It forms a portion of the international border between China and Vietnam. The river, known as Thao River for this upper stretch, continues its southeasterly course through northwestern Vietnam before emerging from the mountains to reach the midlands. Its main tributaries, the Black River (Da River) and Lô River join in to form the very broad Hồng near Việt Trì, Phu Tho Province. Downstream from Việt Trì, the river and its many distributaries spread out to form the Red River Delta. The Red River flows past the Vietnamese capital Hanoi before emptying into the Gulf of Tonkin.

Life/æt/45 - The Red River between Hanoi and Bac Ninh, Vietnam
The Red River is located in Northern Vietnam and from its 1,149 kilometers, 510 kilometers flows through Vietnam, all the way from China to the Gulf of Tonkin. It is commonly known as the Hong Ha (pronounced Hom Ha) or Cai River in Vietnamese. The name 'Red River' comes from its color. The water is always a brownish red colour and this is caused by the amount of silt it holds. Looking at the size of the cargo ships on it, I assume it is very deep too. This river contributes to the livelihood of fisherman and farmers in Northern Vietnam. It expands the coastal delta area, is scenic and beautiful and the silt provides nutrients for farmland. There are endless gravel roads and hiking trails alongside it to use and appreciate its beauty. 🇻🇳
