Maguire was born in Newport News, Virginia, and, as a teenager, worked as a strolling troubadour in Williamsburg, Virginia, before going on to study opera at the Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Michigan. One of his sisters is Linda Maguire, a renowned classical and operatic vocalist. He worked as a stockbroker for several years before making his Broadway debut in 1987 with Les Misérables. He appeared in the films L.A. Pictures, Cadillac, Go Fish, The Deep End Of The Ocean, Busted, and Where The Day Takes You, as well as in a variety of television shows.
In his first year as Wigan's coach Maguire won the 2010 Super League Grand Final. In his second year he won the 2011 Challenge Cup and was signed by the Rabbitohs. In his first year as an NRL head coach he took the Rabbitohs deep into the 2012 finals series. In 2013 the Rabbitohs finished the regular season in second place and in 2014 they won their first premiership in 43 years.
Guys and Dolls was conceived by producers Cy Feuer and Ernest Martin as an adaptation of Damon Runyon's short stories. These stories, written in the 1920s and 1930s, concerned gangsters, gamblers, and other characters of the New York underworld. Runyon was known for the unique dialect he employed in his stories, mixing highly formal language and slang. Frank Loesser, who had spent most of his career as a lyricist for movie musicals, was hired as composer and lyricist. George S. Kaufman was hired as director. When the first version of the show's book, or dialogue, written by Jo Swerling was deemed unusable, Feuer and Martin asked radio comedy writer Abe Burrows to write a new version of the book.
The FoxsitcomMarried... with Children aired its pilot on April 5, 1987, and its series finale aired on May 5, 1997, with the episode "The Desperate Half-Hour (Part 1)" and "How to Marry a Moron (Part 2)". A total of 259 original episodes aired during the program's run. Currently, all eleven seasons are available on DVD, in Region 1. The list is ordered by the episodes' original air dates. Specials that aired during a regular season run are highlighted in yellow in the list.
Series overview
Episodes
Season 1 (1987)
The first season of Married... with Children introduces the major characters: Al, Peg, Kelly and Bud Bundy, along with their neighbors, Steve and Marcy Rhoades. The first season is the only one in which Al and Peg are regularly intimate, to the point of Al initiating the sessions. It is also the only one where Peg can be seen doing housework under normal circumstances, and she even has her own car (as seen in "Sixteen Years and What Do You Get"). In "Thinergy," Bud mentions that Kelly had been held back a year in school. Al's dislike of the French is first shown in this season and it is also the first time that he calls Marcy a "chicken." It also contains the first mention of Peg's family being "hillbillies" from the fictional Wanker County, Wisconsin.
At Samuel Goldwyn and Joseph L. Mankiewicz's request, Frank Loesser wrote three new songs for the film: "Pet Me Poppa", "(Your Eyes Are the Eyes of) A Woman in Love", and "Adelaide", the last written specifically for Sinatra. Five songs in the stage musical were omitted from the movie: "A Bushel and a Peck", "My Time of Day", "I've Never Been In Love Before" (although portions of these three songs are heard instrumentally as background music), "More I Cannot Wish You" and "Marry the Man Today".

What's playing at the Roxy? I'll tell you what's playing at the Roxy. A picture about a Minnesota man falls in love with a Mississippi girl That he sacrifices everything and moves all the way to Biloxi. That's what's playing at the Roxy. What's in the daily news? I'll tell you what's in the daily news. Story about a man bought his wife a small ruby With what otherwise would have been his union dues. That's what's in the daily news. What's happening all over? I'll tell you what's happening all over. Guy sitting home by a television set That used to be something of a rover. That's what's happening all over. Love is the thing that has nipped them. And it looks like Nathan's just another victim. NICELY (spoken) Yes, sir! When you see a guy reach for stars in the sky You can bet that he's doing it for some doll. When you spot a John waiting out in the rain Chances are he's insane as only a John can be for a Jane. When you meet a gent paying all kinds of rent For a flat that could flatten the Taj Mahal. Call it sad, call it funny. But it's better than even money That the guy's only doing it for some doll. When you see a Joe saving have of his dough You can bet there'll be mink in it for some doll. When a bum buys wine like a bum can't afford It's a cinch that the bum is under the thumb of some little broad. When you meet a mug lately out of the jug And he's still lifting platinum folderol Call it hell, call it heaven But it's probable twelve to seven That the guy's only doing it for some doll. (interlude) When you see a sport and his cash has run short Make a bet that he's banking it with some doll. When a guy wears tails with the front gleaming white Who the hell do you think he's tickling pink on Saturday night? When a lazy slob takes a goody steady job, And he smells from vitalis and barbasol. Call it dumb, call it clever Ah, but you can get odds forever That the guy's only doing it for some doll Some doll, some doll The guy's only doing it for some doll!
