15 Broad Street is a former office building now containing luxury apartments, on the northeast corner of Exchange Place with entrances at 51 Exchange Place and 37 Wall Street in Manhattan. In 1931 it was one of the 20 largest office buildings in the world.
History
Construction: 1928
The building was built for the Equitable Trust Company and was therefore called the Equitable Trust Building. Replacing the Mills Building and another buildings on the previous site, it was completed in 1928. The Equitable Trust Co. was one of the units of the Chase National Bank organizations, back then one of the largest and most powerful banking institutions in the world. The law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell was located in the predecessor building from around 1889 and moved out when it was demolished, but returned to the address into the newly completed building and stayed there until 1959.
Military Park Station is an underground station on the Newark City Subway Line of the Newark Light Rail. The station is owned and service is operated by New Jersey Transit. The station is located at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard, Park Place and Broad Street in Downtown Newark at Military Park. The station was opened in 1935 and called Broad Street Station. It was renamed so only one station in the system would carry the name Broad Street when Downtown Newark's stations (Penn Station and Broad Street) were connected by the Newark Light Rail Line. The station is decorated with beige tiles and colored tiles for borders, mosaics and street indicator signs. This station is not wheelchair accessible, but the adjacent stations, Penn Station and Washington Street, are.
History
In 1910, the Public Service Corporation planned to build two subway lines meeting at Broad Street (now Military Park). An additional north-south line would have connected Bridge Street to the north with Clinton Avenue near The Coast/Lincoln Park neighborhood near Lincoln Park. The proposed second segment of the Newark-Elizabeth Rail Link (NERL) together with the first segment, the Newark Light Rail would service this area. The existing Newark City Subway Line was built in the old Morris Canal bed with construction beginning in 1929 and service starting on the line on May 26, 1935.
The Broad Street Line (BSL) (also known as the Broad Street Subway (BSS), Orange Line, or Broad Line) is a Rapid Transit Subway Line Owned by the City of Philadelphia and operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) that runs from Fern Rock Transportation Center in Northwest part of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia. The latter station provides access to the stadiums and arenas for the city's major professional sports teams, about a quarter mile away. It is named for Broad Street, the street under which it runs for almost its entire length. The line, which is entirely underground except for the northern terminus at Fern Rock, has four tracks in a local/express configuration from Fern Rock to Walnut-Locust and two tracks from Lombard-South to the southern terminus at AT&T Station (Pattison Station). The line and its trains are owned by the City of Philadelphia and were leased to SEPTA in 1968 after it assumed operation of the city transit systems from the Former Philadelphia Transportation Company (PTC). Broad Street Line subway cars bear both the SEPTA logo and the seal of the City of Philadelphia to reflect the split ownership-operation arrangement.
Street is the fifth studio album by German singer Nina Hagen released on July 23, 1991 by Mercury Records. The album is produced by Zeus B. Held with songs written mostly by Hagen. It features songs in both, English and German. Hagen also worked with Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante of Red Hot Chili Peppers or with English dance music producer Adamski, with whom she later recorded the song "Get Your Body". After toning down her image with the release of her 1989 album Nina Hagen, she kept on making more downtempo songs, this time, with elements of hip hop. Three singles from the album were released, "In My World", "Berlin" and "Blumen Für Die Damen". Street also contains a cover version of the hit song "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys.
The cover of the album features Hagen wearing three different outfits designed by Jean Paul Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood, with her name written in a Walt Disney-logo-resembling font.
SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) Broad Street Line at the Girard Avenue Station. Kawasaki B-IV cars. After finally fanning the line in Philadelphia, I have managed that their subway system is much similar to the NYCTA's IRT line. Originally I was going to do North Philadelphia but only to find out that EXPRESS trains to Walnut-Locast won't run on weekends. I have manged to do the Broad-Ridge Spur because it only runs from Monday to Saturday. I may caught the AT&T special train but I am not sure if the destination signs is correct because it is on the LOCAL track.
After fanning Girard, I was attempting to do City Hall but I was caught by the SEPTA employee telling me that I need permission. Taking pictures and videos on SEPTA subways are 100% LEGAL. Don't let them...
