Fire was the third album by Wild Orchid, which was scheduled to be released on June 19, 2001. This was the group's final release with Ferguson, as well as their final release as a trio and with RCA Records.
Production
The album was recorded from 1999 to 2000, with several of the tracks being co-written and co-produced by 'N Sync member JC Chasez, Oliver Leiber, Robbie Neville, 3AM and Sweden's Epicenter. Stefanie Ridel told them, "The album's lighter, more fun - and more in step with how we feel about ourselves." She also stated that the album would be filled with energy and spirit, in comparison to the group's previous two albums, which she thought were overly serious.
Release and promotion
Promotion for the album began back in 1999 while Wild Orchid was in the midst of recording it. They performed "World Without You" and "Candle Light" while opening for Cher's Do You Believe? Tour, they performed the title track "Fire" while opening for 'N Sync's 'N Sync in Concert tour during their winter shows and they performed "World Without You" on Great Pretenders. "It's All Your Fault" was also featured in the 2000 film What Women Want.
In the sci-fi television seriesLexx, the fictional planet "Fire" is the afterlife for all evilsouls, and the location for much of Season 3. It shares a tight mutual orbit and an atmosphere with the Planet "Water", which is the afterlife for all goodsouls in the Lexx universe. Both worlds are locked in a perpetual war.
The souls on Water and Fire have no memory of how they arrived there; they simply "woke up" there one day. They are incapable of sexual reproduction and there are no children on either planet. When anyone dies on Planet Fire or Planet Water, they go to a spiritual holding cell in which time stands still, giving the illusion that no time has passed nomatter how long they have been there. When space opens up they "wake up" again whole and healthy on their respective home planet.
Fire is destroyed by the Lexx under the command of Xev at the end of Season 3. With Fire gone, Prince can not reincarnate so he instead chooses to possess the Lexx and destroy Water. When Water and Fire are both destroyed, it is revealed that both planets were actually on the other side of the Sun in our solar system and that all the souls contained on both worlds will be reincarnated on Earth.
"Fire" is a hit song by R&B/funk band Ohio Players. The song was the opening track from the album of the same name and hit #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 (where it was succeeded by Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good") and the Hot Soul Singles chart in early 1975. It spent five weeks atop the soul chart. "Fire" was the Ohio Players' only entry on the new disco/dance chart, where it peaked at #10. The tune is considered to be the band's signature song along with "Love Rollercoaster."
The song was recorded at Mercury Records' Chicago-based studio. While performing it in California, the band let Stevie Wonder hear the basic track for the song and he predicted that it would become a big hit. The song is noted for its sound of a siren recorded from a fire truck, heard at the beginning, as well as in the instrumental break in the middle. The edit version avoided much of the repetition of the music.
Palminteri's surname is of Sicilian origin and his family is originally from Menfi in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. His grandparents, Calogero Palminteri and Rosa Bonfante, married in 1908 and moved to the United States in 1910. Palminteri was born on May 15, 1952, in the Bronx, the son of Rose, a homemaker, and Lorenzo Palminteri, a bus driver. He was raised in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx.
Ice is a 1998 television disaster film starring Grant Show, Udo Kier, and Eva La Rue. The film has a similar premise as The Day After Tomorrow, a science fiction disaster film released six years later. Though completely in English, it first premiered in Germany in 1998 before being aired on ABC in the United States in 2000.
Plot
A small meteor hits the sun, causing disastrous consequences for the Earth. Los Angeles is, just as the rest of the world, covered with a layer of ice and snow. The government has collapsed and everyone is on their own. Chaos and crime prevails. Together with scientist Dr. Kistler and a small group of survivors, L.A. cop Robert Drake leaves in the direction of Long Beach Harbor to meet with a government ship which will take them to Guam, where it is warmer.

Wild Orchid - My Lover
taken from the then-group-turned-duo Wild Orchid's fourth and final album 'Hypnotic' released in 2003 on their website only. Even though Fergie had left the group and joined the Black Eyed Peas, leaving the duo on their own, she does have writing credits on a few of the albums songs. As a duo, they recorded this album in hopes of finding a major label deal, but nothing came of it. The album has been out of print and copies can be very expensive when found online.

Out of reach but too close to see, I've always wondered why The scars closed my heart and if this is the sign, to move on Heading for lights and I taste no fear, the winds are always with me Because of these reasons I gave up my past, all the way They're singing ''whoah'' in the light of the stars They're singing ''whoah'' and the world's here tonight Fire on ice - and time's running out And I am waiting for signs Fire on ice - and we're making sounds Breaking the silence tonight! Hear my voice and the lightning strikes, now the sound is faster than light Because of these reasons we came here to rock, all night They're singing ''whoah'' in the light of the stars, once again They're singing ''whoah'' and the world's here tonight! My heart is beating and I feel the rush, the rhythm gets stronger in me A part of my soul is craving for more, always... They're singing ''whoah'' in the light of the stars They're singing ''whoah'' and the world's here tonight... Fire on ice - and time's running out And I am waiting for signs Fire on ice - and we're making sounds Breaking the silence tonight! Fire on ice - the time's run out Now the sound is faster than light
