Kyoto(京都市,Kyōto-shi, pronounced[kʲjoːꜜto.ɕi]; UK/kɪˈoʊtoʊ/, US/kiˈoʊ-/, or /ˈkjoʊ-/) is a city located in the central part of the island of Honshu, Japan. It has a population close to 1.5 million. Formerly the Imperial capital of Japan for more than one thousand years, it is now the capital city of Kyoto Prefecture located in the Kansai region, as well as a major part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area. Kyoto is also known as the thousand-year capital.
Name
In Japanese, the city has been called Kyō (京), Miyako (都), or Kyō no Miyako (京の都). In the 11th century, the city was renamed Kyoto ("capital city"), after the Chinese word for capital city, jingdu (京都). After the city of Edo was renamed Tokyo (meaning "Eastern Capital") in 1868, and the seat of the Emperor was transferred there, Kyoto was known for a short time as Saikyō (西京, meaning "Western Capital").
Obsolete spellings for the city's name include Kioto and Meaco. Another term commonly used to refer to the city in the pre-modern period was Keishi (京師), meaning "metropolis" or "capital".
DAY TRIP TO HIROSHIMA & MIYAJIMA FROM KYOTO | Japan vlog #8
During this Japan trip, we did a lot of day trips that were really far away, but thankfully with the speed and efficiency of shinkansens, the commute isn't so bad and is actually quite comfortable. In this vlog, we take our last far day trip east to Hiroshima to visit the museum and bomb site, as well as Miyajima Island to feed deer and visit the torii gate at the Itsukushima Shrine.

tyDi:"With this album, I bring 25 songs that I hope will capture your hearts, imaginations, and take you to places far away from here. It's for those cold nights at home away from the clubs - or for me personally, the seemingly endless nights on planes, and living alone in hotel rooms during my world touring. With songs like this I don't need to simplify or reduce the intellectual content just so it's more accessible to the majority. The album includes some of my more known chill pieces like 'Ariana', 'Her Lullaby' and 'The Moment it Breaks', but there's also a huge amount of brand new pieces that you will have never heard before."

It's another day Talking to myself There's no other way Of making it straight ahead It's another May I'm not getting closer And no other stay for me Till the end of flight Far away Will I meet you there Far away Will I see you again (and again) I'm thinking about you are so Far away from home It's another day Flying through cold space And no other say Like endless vacancy It's another way Of getting abandoned Still no other lay in this ship For me to ride Far away Will I meet you there Far away Will I see you again (and again) I'm thinking about you are so
