John Terry Norum (born 23 February 1964 in Vardø, Norway) is a rock music guitarist and founder of the Swedishrock band Europe. Concurrent to his role with Europe, he also maintains a side solo project.
Career
During his career in music, Norum has also played with Eddie Meduza & The Roaring Cadillacs, Dokken, Don Dokken's solo band, as well as collaborations with other well-known artists in his solo albums, including Glenn Hughes, Kelly Keeling, Peter Baltes, Simon Wright and Göran Edman. Norum is considered by many to be a very underrated guitarist. With influences like Gary Moore, Frank Marino and Michael Schenker, his playing has its roots in the blues. But what he is best known for is the passion he puts into his playing, together with extreme preciseness and a great tone. Joey Tempest once said “John Norum is like a man possessed. On stage he performs as if channeling the guitar greats of the 60′s and 70′s that have served to inspire him. But he always delivers in his own unique style, with a hint of blues, of course. I can think of a few other guitarists that play with as much feeling and passion as John.”
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician, most widely recognised as a singer, songwriter and virtuosorock and blues guitarist.
In a career dating back to the 1960s, Moore played with musicians including Phil Lynott and Brian Downey during his teenage years, leading him to memberships of the Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy, and British band Colosseum II. Moore shared the stage with such blues and rock musicians as B.B. King, Albert King, Jack Bruce, Albert Collins, George Harrison and Greg Lake, as well as having a successful solo career. He guested on a number of albums recorded by high-profile musicians.
Early life and career
Moore grew up on Castleview Road opposite Stormont Parliament Buildings, off the Upper Newtownards Road in east Belfast, as one of five children of Bobby, a promoter, and Winnie, a housewife. He left the city as a teenager, because of troubles in his family – his parents parted a year later – just as The Troubles were starting in Northern Ireland.
Playing With the Enemy by Gary W. Moore is a book about Gene Moore, the author's father, whose professional baseball career was interrupted by World War II. The title comes from the elder Moore's time as a guard in a top-secret prisoner of war camp that was holding the crew of a U-boat 505, a captured German submarine. The book was the winner of the 2006 Military Writer's Society of America Book of the Year.Playing with the Enemy is planned to be made into a major motion picture by Academy Award winning producer, Gerald Molen.

GARY MOORE (4 April 1952 - 6 February 2011)
In remembrance to one of my all time guitar heroes, who sadly passed away a year ago today. This remains one of my favourite performances by him and I can still remember buying the original version, written and recorded by Roy Buchanan, when I was still a 15 year old boy and starting out learning to play the guitar.
This performance was recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1990 - a venue he revisited a number of times through the years.
Gary, you are sadly missed.
