THE LIFE OF KING EDWARD VI | The Last Child King of England | Tudor Monarchs series. History Calling
THE LIFE OF KING EDWARD VI, the LAST CHILD KING of England, was brief but turbulent. In this History Calling video, the latest in my Tudor Monarchs series, we look at the impact the life of the last Tudor King had on his country. This includes his relationship with his father, Henry VIII, his step-mother Catherine Parr and his sisters, Mary I and Elizabeth I. We will also look at his religious policies, uprisings including Kett’s Rebellion in 1549 and the destruction of his maternal uncles, Thomas Seymour, Baron Seymour of Sudeley and the Lord Protector Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, both of whom were executed during Edward’s reign.

The PAINFUL Death Of King Edward VI Of England - The Boy Tudor King
During the Tudor period, there was one King who's reign was considered a great shame. King Edward VI was the son that Henry VIII wished so much for, and he was seen as the great hope for the Tudor dynasty, and it was hoped he would reign for a long time. But this was not the case, as Edward VI died at just the age of 15 and his death was seen across England as a tragic thing. Edward was seen as a rather sickly child, and throughout his short life he became ill a number of times. He was known to have contracted smallpox, but he did recover but some bouts of his poor health led doctors to believe that Edward would pass away.
In 1553, the King's health went downhill rapidly, and Edward VI was seen as gravely ill. He began to make arrangements for his successor and disinherited his half siste...

The Nine Year Old King Who Replaced Henry VIII | Edward VI: Boy King | Chronicle
Often remembered as the "Forgotten Tudor King", Edward was just nine his father, King Henry VIII died and the young boy became King. Surrounded by advisors, he became further distanced from his beloved elder sister Mary. But by now they were divided not just by power and status, but also by faith. Mary was a staunch Catholic, Edward a reforming Protestant and the first Protestant King. In the Tudor world, such matters were not an issue of personal choice but matters of life or death, treason or heresy.
Welcome to Chronicle; your home for all things medieval history! With documentaries covering everything from the collapse of the Roman Empire to the beginnings of the Renaissance, from Hastings to Charlemagne, we'll be exploring everything the Middle Ages have to offer.

The HORRIFIC Death Of Edward VI
There was a great hope across England when Henry VIII’s legitimate son Edward was born, but his birth and life would be tinged with sadness and tragedy. Shortly after the heir to the throne was born, Henry VIII’s third wife Jane Seymour died from childbirth related issues, but it was hoped that Edward VI would reign over England for decades and that his future children would secure the Tudor throne for centuries. This would not happen, and Edward VI did not really rule in his own right and power as he would die at such a young age, and it was clear that the King was very sick. It was noted that on the 15th February 1553, that the King was very ill as he was feverish and his elder sister and woman who would later dethrone his successor, came to see him shortly before he died. But what is th...

EXTRA INFORMATION: The story of the Tudors entered a new phase when Henry VIII’s quest for an heir finally came to an end upon the birth of Edward VI in 1537. Tragically the boy’s arrival caused the death of Jane Seymour, his mother. This video will cover the childhood of Edward VI while he was Prince of Wales and his education. We’ll look at his ascension to the throne at the age of 9 to become the first Protestant King of England and how involved he was (or not) in the decision to execute not one, but two of his uncles, Edward and Thomas Seymour. The video will include the scandal of Elizabeth I and Thomas Seymour’s relationship and the death of Edward VI at the age of 15 and attempt to have his cousin, the Protestant Lady Jane Grey succeed him as the first queen of England through his device for the succession, instead of his sister, the Catholic Mary I.

During the Tudor period, there was one King who's reign was considered a great shame. But this was not the case, as Edward VI died at just the age of 15 and his death was seen across England as a tragic thing. In 1553, the King's health went downhill rapidly, and Edward VI was seen as gravely ill. He began to make arrangements for his successor and disinherited his half sisters Mary and Elizabeth, and named Lady Jane Grey as his successor. But Edward wasted away very quickly and it's believed that he died from TB or tuberculosis. This was a common disease in Tudor England, and at the time it attacked the young King's lungs and he was known for being very ill. In his final days, he was coughing up blood and was covered in sores and scabs. However despite his short reign, he had changed England forever with regards to religious reform. But Edward's death was incredibly painful and tragic, and his reign was seen as a short and wasteful one. It was believed that he would reign for decades, but at just 15 Edward VI passed away.

But what is the story of the death of Edward VI?
