The Easterners (Korean: Dongin, Hangul: 동인, Hanja: 東人, literally East people) were a political faction of the Joseon Dynasty. This faction appeared during the reign of Seonjo of Joseon in sixteenth century Korea. Originating from friends of Kim Hyowon, they soon encompassed most of the disciples of Jo Sik and Yi Hwang, conflicting with Yi I and his followers, who formed the core of the Westerners. Though emerging as the dominant faction in the 1580s, it nearly collapsed at the suicide of Jeong Yeorip and the succeeding bloodshed in 1589. After Westerner Jeong Cheol was exiled for attempting to make Prince Gwanghae the Crown Prince, the Easterners divided into Northerners and Southerners.
History
Division from Sarim
After the death of Queen Dowager Munjeong and her brother Yun Wonhyeong in the late Myeongjong (1534-1545-1567) period, the Sarim faction, which had endured four literati purges throughout the sixteenth century, came to power as the dominant political faction. At the time, the Sarim were united as a single faction. But this unity deteriorated during the reign of King Seonjo (1552-1567-1608).
A political faction is a group of individuals, such as a political party, a trade union, or other group with a common political purpose. A faction or political party may include fragmented sub-factions, “parties within a party," which may be referred to as power blocs, or voting blocs. Members of factions band together as a way of achieving these goals and advancing their agenda and position within an organization.
Factions are not limited to political parties; they can and frequently do form within any group that has some sort of political aim or purpose.
The Latin word factio denoted originally either of the chariot teams that were organised professionally by private companies in ancient Rome, each recognizable by characteristic colour and arousing supporter hysteria similar to that in modern sports fans. These teams were not unlike gladiator schools, but the lethal nature of that entertainment meant few performers lasted long enough to build up similar crowd loyalty to the "team", while the fighters rarely actually teamed up, but rather fought duels or beasts. In time, political currents could become associated with such a team, although precisely how this happened is unclear. In Byzantine Constantinople, two such chariot factions, blue and green, repeatedly made or broke the claims of candidates to the imperial throne.
South Koreans refer to themselves as Hanguk-in (Hangul:한국인;hanja:韓國人), or Hanguk-saram (Hangul:한국 사람), both of which mean "Korean country people." When referring to members of the Korean diaspora, Koreans often use the term Han-in (Hangul:한인;hanja:韓人; literally "Korean people").
North Koreans refer to themselves as Joseon-in (Hangul:조선인;hanja:朝鮮人) or Joseon-saram (Hangul:조선 사람), both of which literally mean "Joseon people". Using similar words, Koreans in China refer to themselves as Chaoxianzu (Chinese:朝鲜族) in Chinese or Joseonjok (Hangul:조선족) in Korean, which are cognates that literally mean "Joseon ethnic group".
Ethnic Koreans living in Russia and Central Asia refer to themselves as Koryo-saram (Hangul:고려 사람; Cyrillic script: Корё сарам), alluding to Goryeo, a Korean dynasty spanning from 918 to 1392.
Historical linguists classify Korean as a language isolate. The idea that Korean belongs to a putative Altaic language family has been generally discredited. The Korean language is agglutinative in its morphology and SOV in its syntax.
For over a millennium, Korean was written with adapted Chinese characters called hanja, complemented by phonetic systems such as hyangchal, gugyeol, and idu. In the 15th century, Sejong the Great commissioned a national writing system called Hangul, but it did not become a legal script to write Korean until the 20th century when the Japanese government in Korea was established. This happened because of the yangban aristocracy's preference for hanja.
History
Korean is descended from Proto-Korean, Old Korean, Middle Korean, and Modern Korean. Since the Korean War, through 70 year's of seperations North–South differences have developed in standard Korean, including variance in pronunciation, verb inflection, and vocabulary chosen.
In computer and video gaming, a clan, guild or faction is an organized group of players that regularly play together in one or more multiplayer games. These games range from groups of a few friends to 4000-person organizations, with a broad range of structures, goals and members. The lifespan of a clan also varies considerably, from a few weeks to over a decade. Numerous clans exist for nearly every online game available today, notably in first-person shooters, massively multiplayer games, role-playing video games, and strategy games. There are also meta-groups that span a wide variety of games.
It is commonly argued that a "clan" or "guild" becomes like a family, and that all opinions and decisions represent each single member in the "clan" or "guild". Clans also tend to have a "try outs" initiation system established to weed out those who might not share common interest. A variety of methodical initiations are user-generated challenges ranging from jump courses, in-game achievement hunting.

Federalists & Anti-Federalists!
In Federalist No. 10, James Madison argued that the biggest threat to the nation was factions. Factions are groups of people and Madison was most concerned about majority groups that were opposed to the rights of smaller groups or the community as a whole.

South Korean commuters 'struggling' as protests linger after botched martial law | ABS-CBN News
South Korean residents on Monday (December 9) said they are struggling as lingering demonstrations continue to create obstacles for their commute to the capital Seoul, almost one week after President Yoon Suk Yeol’s botched attempt to declare martial law.
Yoon shocked the nation on Tuesday (December 3) night when he gave the military sweeping emergency powers to root out what he called "anti-state forces" and obstructionist political opponents, only to rescind the order six hours later, after parliament defied military and police cordons to vote unanimously against the decree. The move has triggered mass demonstrations, and tens of thousands demonstrated both against, and for, Yoon over the weekend.

Vote to impeach South Korea’s president fails after boycott by ruling party MPs | BBC News
All but three MPs of South Korea's ruling party left parliament ahead of a vote on whether to impeach embattled President Yoon Suk Yeol.
That meant the bill fell short of the 200 members required to pass it, with the opposition needing eight MPs from the ruling People Power Party (PPP) to back it.
Tens of thousands of people have gathered outside South Korea's National Assembly in Seoul calling for Yoon's removal.
Earlier on Saturday, Yoon apologised for declaring martial law on Tuesday - a move that was quickly overturned by lawmakers - and said he would not impose it again.

South Korean residents on Monday (December 9) said they are struggling as lingering demonstrations continue to create obstacles for their commute to the capital Seoul, almost one week after President Yoon Suk Yeol’s botched attempt to declare martial law.

The move has triggered mass demonstrations, and tens of thousands demonstrated both against, and for, Yoon over the weekend.
On Monday morning, commuters could be seen treading past demonstrators from one of South Korea’s democrat-aligned opposition parties at central Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square.
“The traffic is in a huge jam, and I believe all of this is happening because of this chaos,” said Kim Dong-hun, a commuter from Paju, a city close to the North Korean border.
After Yoon survived an impeachment vote on Saturday (December 7), opponents and supporters have vowed to continue demonstrations all week.

South Korea's president Yoon Suk Yeol has survived an impeachment vote triggered by his shock attempt to impose martial law after a boycott from members of his party.
As parliament debated the motion, almost all of the ruling party's members left the hall, casting doubt on the chances of reaching the threshold for the bill to pass.

President Obama says avoiding government shutdown is not a concession to him but a basic responsibility of lawmakers. More from CNN at http://www.cnn.com/
Federalists & Anti-Federalists!
In Federalist No. 10, James Madison argued that the biggest threat to the nation was factions. Factions are groups of people and Madison was most concerned about majority groups that were opposed to the rights of smaller groups or the community as a whole.
His solution was a large republic that would include so many different factions that it would limit the majority’s ability to trample minority rights. So, the Federalists were for a stronger federal government.
Brutus No. 1 is an anti-federalist paper that argued for local control, wanting people to have as much power as possible. He preferred for power to be decentralized and warned that a large, centralized government with the power to tax would endanger individual rights. And protecting individual rights was a main concern of Brutus.

For the first time, senior Liberals speak out about the “WWIII” factional infighting that may have cost the party the election.
In a vicious blame game, Liberals accuse each other’s factions of ‘thuggish behaviour’ and being ‘a cancer that’s infected the party’; disputes that tainted the preselection of candidates in a dozen NSW seats just weeks before the election.
The feud directly implicated former prime minister Scott Morrison and went all the way to the High Court. It’s been blamed for contributing to the devastating election loss.
Four Corners exposes the deep divisions within the Liberal Party, and extraordinary allegations about back-room party operatives and their relationships with wealthy business interests.

The opposition party has now proposed a new impeachment vote.
