The Steadfast Tin Soldier | “Steadfast Tin Soldier" is a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about a tin soldier's love for a paper ballerina.
The Tin soldier
There were once twenty-five tin soldiers. All of them were brothers, since they had been forged from the same old big tin spoon. The little soldiers wore marvelous blue and red uniforms, standing straight with a rifle on their shoulders.
Although all 25 soldiers were the same, there was one that was a little different: he had only one leg. This last little soldier had been forged last and there had not been enough tin left to complete him.
He had one leg, but he stood as straight on his one leg as his other brothers.
Today’s story is about this soldier.
And in the middle of everything, what stood out the most was the paper lady at the castle entrance.
The beautiful lady had her arms raised. She was a great dancer, with one leg raised. When the tin soldier saw her, he believed that she only had one leg like him.
“This woman has to be my wife,” he thought. “But she lives in a castle and I live in this box with my brothers. I do not think she will be interested in me, but I have to learn who she is.”
When night fell, everyone who lived in the house went to sleep and the other tin soldiers returned to the box. It was the moment the toys started to play.
The only ones who did not move from where they stood were the one-legged soldier and the dancer.
When midnight arrived the lid of a tobacco box opened. The snuffbox contained no tobacco, only a little black goblin
The following morning, the children went to the room and played with the tin soldier by the window. It is not known whether the window opened suddenly and the soldier fell out into the street from the third floor because of the goblin or a draft of air.
Then it began to rain.
When it stopped raining, a group of naughty boys passed by:
“Look, a tin soldier! Let’s take him for a boat ride!”
They made a paper boat from a newspaper and put him inside. The paper seemed to be strong against the water.
“Where am I?” the soldier asked himself. “If at least I were here with my lady, I would not mind being in the dark. Certainly all this is the fault of the goblin!”
The current was getting stronger and the soldier could see the sunlight at the end of the sewer tunnel.
The ship sailed out of the sewer and the tin soldier stood upright. The ship circled four times on itself. There was going to be a shipwreck!
Finally, the ship fell apart and the tin soldier sank little by little. When he was about to drown, a large fish ate him.
Later, the soldier noticed how the fish moved in a strange way until it stopped moving.
A fisherman had caught it and taken it to the market.
The fish was sold at the market and taken to the kitchen of the house where the tin soldier had always lived.
The soldier was back in the same room, with the same children and the same toys.
Suddenly, a child picked up the small soldier and, for no reason, threw him into the stove.
He felt that he was melting, but the soldier was still straight with the rifle on his shoulder.
Suddenly, a window opened and a draft of air grabbed the dancer.
The dancer flew with grace into the stove, beside the tin soldier.
The tin soldier turned into a ball and the next morning when the mother took the ashes from the stove she found a small tin heart.
All that was left of the dancer was the sequin, black as coal, which had remained stuck to the heart of the molten tin belonging to the soldier.

The Steadfast Tin Soldier
On his birthday, a boy receives a set of 25 toy soldiers and arrays them on a table top. One soldier stands on a single leg, having been the last one cast from an old tin spoon. Nearby, he spies a paper ballerina with a spangle on her sash. She too is standing on one leg and the soldier falls in love. That night, a goblin among the toys angrily warns the soldier to take his eyes off the ballerina, but the soldier ignores him. The next day, the soldier falls from a windowsill (presumably the work of the goblin) and lands in the street. Two boys find the soldier, place him in a paper boat, and set him sailing in the gutter. The boat and its passenger wash into a storm drain, where a rat demands the soldier pay a toll. Sailing on, the boat is washed into a canal, where the tin soldier is swallowed by a fish. When the fish is caught and cut open, the tin soldier finds himself once again on the table top before the ballerina. Inexplicably, the boy throws the tin soldier into the fire. A wind blows the ballerina into the fire with him; she is consumed at once but her spangle remains. The tin soldier melts into the shape of a heart.

Dive into one of our craziest projects yet as we tackle a mission that's as hilarious as it is bewildering - swapping the roof of A Charlie Brown look a like, all to eliminate the sunroof on Charlie before the race season kicks off.
Our journey is packed with unexpected discoveries - from sighing in relief that the trunk didn't turn into a crime novel scene, to Brad geeking out over an old school bumper jack. But the real kicker? Todd unearthing the car's original manual, bearings, matches, and a hilariously out-of-date condom from the glove box!
Witness the saga of cutting through decades of grime and rust to free the roof, then hauling it inside where Jay becomes the unsung hero, fitting it onto Charlie Brown like it was always meant to be. This roof swap isn't just about prepping for the race season; it's a testament to our crew's wild ideas and willingness to go the extra mile.

Different Flat & Boxer Engine Configurations | Explained
Different Flat & Boxer Engine Configurations Explained | Flat-Twin to Flat-16
A flat engine is also a horizontally opposed piston engine with cylinders on either side of a central crankshaft.
Most flat engines use a "boxer" configuration because the movement of the engine's pistons resembles the action of a boxer's fists in the horizontal plane. However, unlike the boxer's fists, which both moves in the same direction, half of the 'Boxer' engine's pistons move in the opposite direction. Boxer engines have low vibrations since they are the only common configuration with no unbalanced forces, regardless of the number of cylinders.
Flat engines have been used in aviation, motorcycle, and automobile applications. They are now less common in cars than straight engines and V engines (for eng...

Porsche, a name synonymous with performance and precision engineering, has graced the automotive world with a rich history of iconic vehicles. Now While many associate Porsche with its legendary flat-six engines, the German automaker once delved into uncharted territory with a flat-16 powerhouse that has remained a hidden gem in its racing legacy.
The era of the 1960s and 1970s was an exciting time for motorsport, and Porsche was determined to leave its mark. Already renowned for its flat-12 engines, notably featured in the 908 and 917 race cars, Porsche ventured into unexplored territory with a flat-16 engine.

PORSCHE MISSION S, 16 Cylinders
Porsche Mission S. The overwhelming curiosity that is stirred by Bugatti's teaser video on their up and coming V16 engine has prompted Porsche to seek their own avenue in the 16 cylinder segment. Porsche wants evoke its 16 cylinder 917 PA Spyder test car as their inspiration for the next road car
Porsche C.E.O. Oliver Blume confirmed that the Mission X was to make a strong statement for the brand's future in electric powered vehicles however he also made a firm statement on Porsche's commitment to e-fuel bio-synthetic fuels beyond 2030. E-fuel he says is also another form of clean energy so leaked information are that Porsche is working on a supercar to show its commitment towards this energy.

The BUGATTI W16 Engine - The Last of Its Kind
BUGATTI’s 8.0-liter W16 engine has reigned over the world of internal combustion for nearly two decades. It has powered the brand's hyper sports cars into the history books as the only 16-cylinder aggregate in the world.
As a unique masterpiece of engineering and long since an icon, the 8.0-liter W16 made its debut in the VEYRON 16.4 in 2005, before culminating in the CHIRON Super Sport 300+ breaking the 300 mph barrier at exactly 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h) in 2019.

The INSANE H16 Formula 1 Engine!
THIS - is a H16 engine. Yep, when others were designing V8s and V12s, BRM went MAD and designed a 3 litre H-16 engine.
And it was GENIUS - allowing for more power, and better weight distribution than other engines. However, all of that was ‘in-theory’.
The reality was an engine with INCREDIBLE potential but LOVED to blow up.
So why did they look at the V8s and V10s and go ‘nah’, I’ll have a H16 please?’

They are now less common in cars than straight engines and V engines (for engines with six or more cylinders). They are much more common in aircraft, where straight engines are a rarity, and V engines have almost vanished except in historic aircraft. And They have even replaced radial engines in many smaller installations.
The advantages of flat engines are a short length, low center of mass, and suitability for air cooling.
The most common flat-twin engines are:
Flat-twin engines: A flat-twin engine is a two-cylinder IC engine with the cylinders on opposite sides of the crankshaft, where both cylinders move inwards and outwards simultaneously.
Flat-4 engines: A four-cylinder piston engine with two banks of cylinders lying on opposite sides of a common crankshaft. Most flat-four engines are designed so that each pair of opposing pistons moves inwards and outwards simultaneously. The terms "flat-four" and "boxer-four" are often used synonymously.
Flat-6 engines: It is a six-cylinder piston engine with three cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft, where each pair of opposed cylinders moves inwards and outwards simultaneously.
Flat-8 engines: A flat-eight engine is an eight-cylinder piston engine with two banks of four inline cylinders, one on each side of a central crankshaft.
Flat-10 engines: A flat-ten engine is a ten-cylinder piston engine with five cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft.
Flat-12 engines: A flat-twelve engine is a twelve-cylinder piston engine with six cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft.
Flat-16 engines: A flat-sixteen engine is a sixteen-cylinder piston engine with eight cylinders on each side of a central crankshaft.

The flat-16 engine, although rare, wasn't entirely unheard of. V16 engines had their moment of glory in the 1930s, with manufacturers like Cadillac and Marmon installing them in luxury cars. But Porsche's decision to experiment with a flat-16 layout for a race car was a bold and unique move.
The genesis of Porsche's flat-16 engine can be traced back to its involvement in the American Can-Am racing series. And Unlike many other championships, Can-Am had remarkably liberal regulations, allowing for the creation of exceptionally powerful cars. These lacks competition rules lead to the creation of some of the craziest cars in racing history, Now if Porsche wanted to Compete against the massive V8 engines in these race cars which producing over 600 horsepower in the 1960s and over 800 in the early 1970s, Porsche sought a solution to gain a competitive edge.
Porsche entered the Can-Am series in 1970, campaigning with the 908 and the 917K Le Mans car. However, these cars proved to be underpowered when pitted against formidable rivals from McLaren, Lola, and Chaparral. In pursuit of more power, Porsche decided to expand on its successful flat-12 engine, leading to the birth of the flat-16.
The result was a colossal 7.2-liter flat-16 engine capable of churning out an astonishing 880 horsepower at a spine-tingling 8,000 rpm. It's essential to note that this incredible power output was achieved without any forced induction - this was a naturally aspirated powerhouse.
To accommodate this massive engine, Porsche modified a 917 race car, featuring cleaner exterior lines compared to the Le Mans variant and chassis adjustments to accommodate the larger powerplant. Four of these flat-16 monsters were crafted, signaling Porsche's serious intent to compete in the Can-Am series. Mark Donohue, the renowned racing driver, was chosen to conduct extensive testing.
Donohue described the flat-16 as a ferocious beast and believed it had the potential to unleash up to 2,000 horsepower if turbocharged. However, the flat-16 never had the chance to grace the racetrack in an official event. So, what led to this decision?
Intriguingly, nothing really went wrong with the flat-16; it was powerful and remarkably reliable. Porsche, however, opted to pursue a turbocharged route with the smaller flat-12 engine. In 1971, Porsche continued racing the naturally aspirated flat-12 but introduced a turbocharged 5.0-liter version of the same engine in 1972. Now my guess as to why Porsche decided to cancel the massive flat 16, is well maintenance. Racing engines work hard, and need to be rebuild, and fixed between races, and the turbo way was probably just cheaper.
And This turbocharged flat-12, wasn’t weak either producing a formidable 900 horsepower, and the 900HP symphony found its home in the 917/10K and clinched the Can-Am championship, ending McLaren's five-year dominance.
While the naturally aspirated flat-16 was not significantly less potent than the turbocharged flat-12, Porsche returned to Can-Am in 1973 with the 917/30. And this car was well insane. The car boasted a twin-turbocharged, 5.4-liter flat-12 engine capable of delivering a staggering 1,580 horsepower, propelling Porsche to another championship victory. And even Today 50 years later, the 917/30 remains the most powerful race car Porsche has ever constructed. Just imagine driving one of these. It made 1580HP and weighed only 800Kg’s That’s 2000HP per ton. That’s a dangerous amount.
Anyways back to the Flat 16. Porsche's flat-16 engine was not a failure in the traditional sense. Instead, the German engineers deemed a turbocharged layout more advantageous, leading to the retirement of the flat-16 before it saw official racing action. Two of the four flat-16 engines have survived to this day, with one residing in the Porsche museum
