This list refers to the minimum driving age for a motor vehicle with a maximum authorized mass not exceeding 3,500 kg and designed and constructed for the carriage of no more than eight passengers in addition to the driver (not including a trailer). Once reaching this age one may apply for a driver's license. Countries with the lowest driving ages (below 17) are Australia, Canada, El Salvador, Iceland, Israel, India, Estonia, Macedonia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Sweden, the United Kingdom(Mainland), and the United States with driving ages varying from 14 – 17 years old. With the Canadian province of Alberta and several U.S. states having the lowest at 14. On the other hand, the Western African nation of Niger has the highest minimum driving age in the world, that is 23.
A driver's license (US English) or driving licence (UK English) is an official document that states that a person may operate one or more types of motorized vehicles, such as a motorcycle, car, truck, or a bus, on a public roadway without in-vehicle supervision. The laws relating to the licensing of drivers vary between jurisdictions. In some jurisdictions, a license is issued after the recipient has passed a driving test, while in others, a person acquires a license before beginning to drive. Different categories of license often exist for different types of motor vehicles, particularly large trucks and passenger vehicles. The difficulty of the driving test varies considerably between jurisdictions, as do factors such as age and the required level of practice.
History
Karl Benz, inventor of the modern automobile, had to receive written permission from the Grand Ducal authorities to operate his car on public roads in 1888 after residents complained about the noise and smell of his Motorwagen. Up until the start of the 20th century, European authorities issued licenses to drive motor vehicles similarly ad hoc, if at all.
Here's Why The Driving Age Is 16 In Most States. Should It Be? - Cheddar Explains
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers in the United States. 16 to 17-year-old drivers are almost twice as likely to die in a car crash than drivers who are just two years older. So why is the minimum driving age still 16 in 44 states? It’s actually a highly contested subject.

Why Are Teens Opting Out of Driving?
Fifteen-year-old Mia Castellanos is like a lot of teens these days. She has zero interest in getting her driver's license. According to the Federal Highway Administration, 25% of 16 year olds opted to get their license in 2021. Receiving your driver's license used to be a right of passage and a key step towards independence. However, being independent looks very different to this generation of teenagers, thanks in large part to everything you need being at your fingertips.

Age limit for vocational driving licence to remain at 75 years old
The age limit for the vocational driving licence to operate a public service vehicle will remain at 75 years old. The National Taxi Association has been calling for the limit to be raised to allow its drivers to work beyond the current age cap. However, Senior Minister of State for Transport Amy Khor said this proposal was rejected, based on past accident statistics and the Singapore Medical Association's assessment. She also noted that current vocational license holders above 70 are a minority, making up between 1% and 5%.
