Spirit is the second studio album by singer/songwriterJewel, released in 1998 by Atlantic. Singles include "Hands", "Down So Long," and a newly recorded version of "Jupiter," followed by a remix of "What's Simple Is True" to promote Jewel's debut film Ride with the Devil. In addition, a one track CD containing a live version of "Life Uncommon" was released to music stores in hopes to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity.
Spirit debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 with 368,000 copies sold in its first week. It eventually sold 3.7 million units in the U.S.
Spirit is This Condition's third EP, a five-track album recorded in April 2010. It was released on July 27, 2010 through online retailers and digital music stores (iTunes), as well as a physical release through the band's online merch store. Recorded in Boonton, NJ's The Pilot Studio with producer Rob Freeman, whom the band had worked with on three singles in 2009, the album features five new tracks, including "Go" and "Stay Right Here".
The Pokémon(ポケモン,Pokemon) franchise has 721 (as of the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) distinctive fictional species classified as the titular Pokémon. This is a selected listing of 50 of the Pokémon species, originally found in the Red and Green versions, arranged as they are in the main game series' National Pokédex.
Meowth
Meowth(ニャース,Nyāsu, Nyarth), known as the ScratchCat Pokémon, has a distinctly feline appearance, resembling a small housecat. It has cream-colored fur, which turns brown at its paws and tail tip. Its oval-shaped head features prominent whiskers, black-and-brown ears, and a koban, a gold oval coin (also known as "charm") embedded in its forehead. Meowth are valued for their ability to collect coins using their signature move, "Pay Day", as it is the only Pokémon that learns it. Meowth's coloration, its love of coins, and its charm indicate that Meowth is based on the Japanese Maneki Neko, a cat-shaped figurine that is said to bring good luck and money to its owner. Aspects of Meowth were drawn from a Japanese myth dealing with the true value of money, in which a cat has money on its head but does not realize it.
Driftwood is an Americana/Folk-Rock band from Binghamton, NY that was formed in 2005. The group consists of Dan Forsyth (guitar, vocals), Joe Kollar (banjo, guitar, percussion), Claire Byrne (violin, vocals), and Joey Arcuri (upright bass, vocals). Their music has been described variously as "fusing traditional Americana and with contemporary influences and timeless subject matter".
Formation
Driftwood was formed by High School friends Dan Forsyth and Joe Kollar in 2006. The original lineup consisted of Forsyth, Kollar, Jon Doll (Bass), Chris Duddy (Mandolin) and Mike Torres (Drums). In 2008, as Duddy and Torres were leaving the band, violinist Claire Byrne was introduced to Forsyth and Kollar. Shortly thereafter, she joined. Original bassist Jonathan Doll left the band in late 2011 and Joey Arcuri joined Driftwood shortly after, completing the current and most definitive lineup.
Career
The band has released three studio albums and one live album.
Driftwood's debut album, the self-produced "Rally Day", was independently released in 2009. They released their second studio effort, "A Rock & Roll Heart", under the Old Boy Records label in 2011. In late 2013, they released "Driftwood", a fan-funded, self-produced and independently released album. Recorded with Grammy-winning engineer Robby Hunter, the album earned them spots on national radio shows including NPR's Mountain Stage and Music City Roots. The video for "The Sun's Going Down", a single cut from the album, was featured on CMT.com. In 2014, they released their first live album, "Live at Grassroots 2014". It was recorded at the 2014 Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance.
"Driftwood" is the second single taken from Indie band Travis' second studio album, The Man Who. It became their biggest hit single up to that point, peaking at #13 on the UK Singles Chart.
Background
In an interview for NME, Fran revealed that, "The title reputedly comes from the advice of one of my close friends. He advised me not to leave college to concentrate on the band. The lyrics focus on a character who has abandoned all his connections and is now like driftwood - "breaking into pieces... hollow and of no use, waterfalls will find you, bind you, grind you". Driftwood is a song for the person in your life who has so much potential and, yet, doesn't use it, because they're afraid of falling on their backside, you know, they're afraid of making a fool of themselves. But, yet, if they put their minds to it and just threw their plate out the window, they would actually do a lot with it and make themselves happy and other people happy. The chorus came about while I was watching an episode of Cheers. The episode involved an employee overhearing their boss stating that he was going to get rid of the "driftwood" in the company. I then went to do the washing up, and the first line in the chorus just came to me. Also, our original idea was to include the lyrics "caterpillars turn to butterflies", but it was too long to fit with the tune, so we shaved off syllables, changing it to "pillars turn to butter."
I found this interesting piece of root the other day while kayaking. I thought it would make a cool looking wood spirit.

Sid Burnard: "Free Spirit" feature film about driftwood sculptor
Artist Sid Burnard welcomes us into his weird and wonderful world of beachcombing. Through his eyes we see how an old fragment of driftwood transforms into an elegant neck of a bird, or how a washed up lavatory seat takes on a new life as a boat: 'The Loo-seat-ania'. It is a warm and humorous insight into a creative mind with an astonishing gift of seeing what others do not.

Biography - Sid Burnard was born in Brighton in 1948. Introduced to the art of beachcombing by his Romany grandmother, Sid learnt to appreciate the beauty of nature from an early age. His time at Bristol Guild of Applied Arts gave him a profound understanding of visual arts and crafts and allowed him to put his personal vision into practice.
He is now based in Borth near Aberystwyth in Wales, where the flotsam and jetsam from the nearby sea is his only source of materials. Working with found objects, nothing is changed -- simply introduced to another. His driftwood pieces, usually birds, boats or mythical beasts, are full of his passion, integrity and wonderful humour.

How can Mind Power help us to achieve goals? How can a homeless child with a mentally unstable and abusive mother become successful?

Some of the world's rich and successful people didn't start off that way. They spent nights sleeping on the streets, in their cars, or on friends' couches. Some of them struggled with their situation while pursuing their dreams. Dr. Teresa Van Woy is one of them who struggled from childhood but ended up reaching her goals.
The power of goals and following your dreams is one of the fundamental keys in every successful person’s life. The basic secret towards the achievement of goals is commitment. Writing down the goals and deciding what you want is one task and getting to it is another. Since this is already known, you should not let it take you apart. Fear is the main hindrance toward the achievement of goals and dreams. Set your goals, start working on them, and never, ever give up. This is the way you will reach your destination. Transform your misfortunes into fortunes.
▶️ Overview of WILDFLOWER, A TALE OF TRANSCENDENCE:
Spending the night in juvenile detention wasn't the worst thing to happen to seven year old Teresa. Her much anticipated summer vacation from Florida to California turns to years of abuse when her mentally unstable mother abducts her and three of her eight siblings to settle in the slums of San Francisco's Tenderloin district. At the age of seven, she was left to fend for herself and her family.
During her time in San Francisco, young Teresa fantasized of a better life. Observing how the other half lived, she never let go of her dreams as she forged her way from homelessness and abuse to become a physician. At a young age, Teresa learned that with hard work and determination, you can get what you want in life.
