Smith Smith (21 March 1943 – 20 April 1991) was an Australian journalist and broadcaster.
Early life
Vincent Ross Smith was born in Perth, Western Australia on 21 March 1943. Smith was born in the Tresillian Hospital, Nedlands, to parents Ross and Ina.
Both his father Ross Smith (Charles David) and grandfather Charles Patrick Smith were involved in the newspaper business in Perth, with Charles Patrick Smith the managing editor of West Australian Newspapers Ltd. Charles is listed on The West Australian Wikipedia page as an editor from 1927 to 1951.
Vincent grew up in the Perth suburb of Claremont, where his grandfather also had a home. Smith's father, Charles David Ross, is listed on the 1963 Electoral Roll as a journalist living in Claremont.
Revolution is the second full-length album by the South Koreanpopgirl groupKara. It was released on online music sites on July 30, 2009, with a physical release on July 31. The album was the band's first regular release to be recorded under the second line-up, featuring members Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung, who replaced Kim Sunghee after her withdrawal in 2008.
Background
The lead single "Wanna" was released on July 28, 2009, ahead of the album's official release. The music video was released on July 29, with the full album being available on July 30. Promotional activities commenced on July 31, beginning with KBS's Music Bank; the group performed both "Wanna" and "Mister". After their performance aired, "Mister" proved to be popular with viewers due to a "butt dance" that is featured prominently in the choreography.
On August 30, 2009, "Wanna" won the "Mutizen Song" award from SBS's Inkigayo music program.
Due to the overwhelming response that "Mister" received, Kara's overall popularity increased, with numerous advertisement requests coming in for the group; they had more advertisements in October 2009 than the previous two years.
The revolution was faced with immediate threats from Western imperial powers, particularly the United Kingdom, which had occupied Egypt since 1882, and France, both of whom were wary of rising nationalist sentiment in territories under their control throughout the Arab world, and Africa. The ongoing state of war with Israel also posed a serious challenge, as the Free Officers increased Egypt's already strong support of the Palestinians. These two issues conflated four years after the revolution when Egypt was invaded by Britain, France, and Israel in the Suez Crisis of 1956. Despite enormous military losses, the war was seen as a political victory for Egypt, especially as it left the Suez Canal in uncontested Egyptian control for the first time since 1875, erasing what was seen as a mark of national humiliation. This strengthened the appeal of the revolution in other Arab and African countries.
The French Revolution (French:Révolution française[ʁevɔlysjɔ̃ fʁɑ̃sɛːz]) was a period of far-reaching social and political upheaval in France that lasted from 1789 until 1799, and was partially carried forward by Napoleon during the later expansion of the French Empire. The Revolution overthrew the monarchy, established a republic, experienced violent periods of political turmoil, and finally culminated in a dictatorship under Napoleon that rapidly brought many of its principles to Western Europe and beyond. Inspired by liberal and radical ideas, the Revolution profoundly altered the course of modern history, triggering the global decline of absolute monarchies while replacing them with republics and liberal democracies. Through the Revolutionary Wars, it unleashed a wave of global conflicts that extended from the Caribbean to the Middle East. Historians widely regard the Revolution as one of the most important events in human history.

Vincent Smith on the passing of the Public Audit Amendment Bill
On Tuesday the National Assembly passed the Public Audit Amendment Bill. It gives more power to the Auditor General who has the unenviable task of wading through the financial records of government entities to ensure that the books balance and everything is above board. If he uncovers corruption or fraud he can now refer those findings directly to the law authorities. To discuss we're joined by Vincent Smith who is the Chair of the Standing Committee on the Auditor General. He's also the Chair of the Constitutional Review Committee which has the mandate to propose changes if necessary to section 25 of the Constitution that deals with the expropriation of land. So we can see how that committee's work is progressing.
