Metric System: Flocabulary lesson
Flocabulary’s Metric System lesson is based on powers of ten and uses prefixes to describe measurements of all sizes. This video introduces students to the metric system’s prefixes and some of the more common bases. The mnemonic “King Henry Died Drinking Chocolate Milk” gives students a funny, memorable way to keep the prefixes straight. The song includes an explanation of the following prefixes: kilo, hecto, deca, deci, centi, and milli.

For the majority of recorded human history, units like the weight of a grain or the length of a hand weren’t exact and varied from place to place. Now, consistent measurements are such an integral part of our daily lives that it’s hard to appreciate what a major accomplishment for humanity they’ve been. A metric prefix is a unit prefix that precedes a basic unit of measure to indicate a multiple or fraction of the unit. While all metric prefixes in common use today are decadic, historically there have been a number of binary metric prefixes as well.[1] Each prefix has a unique symbol that is prepended to the unit symbol. The prefix kilo-, for example, may be added to gram to indicate multiplication by one thousand: one kilogram is equal to one thousand grams. The prefix milli-, likewise, may be added to metre to indicate division by one thousand; one millimetre is equal to one thousandth of a metre.
Decimal multiplicative prefixes have been a feature of all forms of the metric system with six dating back to the system's introduction in the 1790s. Metric prefixes have even been pre-pended to non-metric units. The SI prefixes are standardized for use in the International System of Units (SI) by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) in resolutions dating from 1960 to 1991.[2] Since 2009, they have formed part of the International System of Quantities.

Make your Data Type more Abstract with Opaque Types in C // When you think about abstract data types (ADTs) you probably think about object-oriented languages, like C++, java, ruby, or python. But, even though C isn't object-oriented and doesn't have a private keyword, you can still limit data type visibility using opaque types, in the same way that LibC does with FILE pointers. This video shows you how.

In this tutorial, we have discussed int data-type in detail.
We have explained below concepts:
How data is stored in computer's memory.
Size and range of int
Signed and unsigned int
How negative numbers are stored in binary.
About binary number system:

Make your Data Type more Abstract with Opaque Types in C // When you think about abstract data types (ADTs) you probably think about object-oriented languages, like C++, java, ruby, or python. But, even though C isn't object-oriented and doesn't have a private keyword, you can still limit data type visibility using opaque types, in the same way that LibC does with FILE pointers. This video shows you how.

Welcome! I post videos that help you learn to program and become a more confident software developer. I cover beginner-to-advanced systems topics ranging from network programming, threads, processes, operating systems, embedded systems and others. My goal is to help you get under-the-hood and better understand how computers work and how you can use them to become stronger students and more capable professional developers.
About me: I'm a computer scientist, electrical engineer, researcher, and teacher. I specialize in embedded systems, mobile computing, sensor networks, and the Internet of Things. I teach systems and networking courses at Clemson University, where I also lead the PERSIST research lab.
