Capo di tutt'i capi or capo dei capi, often referred to as the Godfather in English, is Italian for "boss of all bosses" or "boss of bosses". It is a phrase used mainly by the media, public and the law enforcement community to indicate a supremely powerful crime boss in the Sicilian or American Mafia who holds great influence over the whole organization.
The title was introduced to the U.S. public by the Kefauver Commission (1950). It has seldom been given to specific bosses because it could create tension between different factions (otherwise known as families) within the Mafia. Typically the title is awarded de facto to the boss of the most powerful Mafia family.
American Mafia
The word was applied by mobsters to Giuseppe Morello around 1900, according to Nick Gentile. Bosses Joe Masseria (1928–1931) and Salvatore Maranzano (1931) used the title as part of their efforts to centralize control of the Mafia under themselves. When Maranzano won the Castellammarese War, he set himself up as boss of all bosses and ordered every Mafia family to pay him tribute. This provoked a rebellious reaction which led to him being murdered. Lucky Luciano then created The Commission in 1931 as an alternative.
The first season of American animated television seriesRegular Show originally aired on Cartoon Network in the United States. Many of the characters are loosely based on those developed for J.G. Quintel's student films at California Institute of the Arts: The Naïve Man From Lolliland and 2 in the AM PM. Quintel pitched Regular Show for Cartoon Network's Cartoonstitute project, in which the network allowed young artists to create pilots with no notes to possibly be optioned as a show. After being green-lit, Quintel recruited several indie comic book artists, plus some of the crewmembers he had worked with on The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, to compose the staff of the show, as their style matched close to what he desired for the series. Regular Show was picked up by Cartoon Network, who decided to create a twelve-episode first season.
The first episode of Regular Show's first season is "The Power", ending with the season finale "Mordecai and the Rigbys". The season was storyboarded and written by J. G. Quintel, Sean Szeles, Shion Takeuchi, Mike Roth, Jake Armstrong, Benton Connor, Kat Morris, Paul Scarlata, and Kent Osborne, while being produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The show is rated TV-PG and occasionally TV-PG-V. Despite not airing on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim line-up, it is considered more of a traditional adult's animated comedy than a children's cartoon.
Costello is an American television sitcom that aired from September 15, 1998 to October 13, 1998.
Premise
The series was about an Irish-American family in South Boston. The central character is Sue Murphy (Sue Costello), a barmaid who has broken up with her boyfriend and is trying to improve herself, despite the incomprehension of her blue-collar family.
Critical response
The show wasn't popular with critics, who considered it vulgar and shouty. A review in The New York Times said, "There are entirely too many colorfully crude blue-collar characters". The Los Angeles Times called it a more working-class Cheers and criticised Costello's acting ability.
Costello is an educational MUD— a text-based online role-playing game— designed for teaching English as a foreign or second language. It is offered online as a free service. Created in 1995, it was innovative in its use of the MUD medium for EFL/ESL instruction, and has received positive critical response.
Characteristics
Costello is intended to function both as an engaging game and a teaching environment, following the reasoning that players will be more motivated to learn if their skill acquisition aids them in their game-play. To avoid degrading the value of language skills acquired, the game's command parser avoids support for ungrammatical shorthand forms; where a typical MUD might allow a player to examine a hat with the syntax l hat, Costello requires look at the hat. An integrated dictionary provides explication of unfamiliar terms.
The game may be played through a Web browser using a Java applet or using a Java client distributed on a CD-ROM with the course textbook. A non-networked standalone application version of Costello is also included on the CD-ROM.
The surname has been borne by a notable Irish family who claimed descent from Jocelyn de Angulo (fl. 1172), Anglo-Normanknight. The family first appears on record in Ireland in 1193, when the Annals of the Four Masters state: Inis Clothrann do orgain la macaibh Oisdealb, & la macaibh Conchobhair Maonmaighe. (Inishcloghbran was plundered by the sons of Osdealv, and the sons of Conor Moinmoy.)
In Italy, the name originated in the Campania region and in Sicily but is now more prevalent in the northern regions of Italy. Its origins as a surname are from the medieval Latin name "Costellus". It is related to Costa, a more common Italian surname, as its diminutive.

Oistealb or Osdealv was the Gaelic rendering of Jocelyn. The sons of Jocelyn were Philip, Gilbert, and William de Angulo. The descendants of William de Angulo (or Mac Costello) settled in Connacht and the name became Gaelicized, dropping the surname de Angulo in favor of Mac Oisdealb, or Mac [C]ostello. The barony of Costello in east Mayo is named from this family
