The Faroe Islands (/ˈfɛəroʊ/; Faroese:Føroyar pronounced[ˈfœɹjaɹ]; Danish:Færøerne, pronounced[ˈfæɐ̯øːˀɐnə]) are an archipelago between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Norway and Iceland, 320 kilometres (200mi) north-northwest of Great Britain. The area is approximately 1,400km2 (540 sq mi) with a 2015 population of 48,700. The islands are an autonomous country within the Danish kingdom.
Between 1035 and 1814, the Faroe Islands were part of the Kingdom of Norway. The 1814 Treaty of Kiel granted Denmark control over the islands, along with two other Norwegian regions: Greenland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands have been a self-governing country within the Danish Realm since 1948. The Faroese have control of most domestic matters; areas that remain the responsibility of Denmark include military defence, police, justice, currency and foreign affairs. The Faroe Islands have representation in the Nordic Council as members of the Danish delegation.

Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

I was told NOT to come to the Faroe Islands. As a traveler, I love going where few travel and little is known about this remote European destination other than a lot of negative headlines. High in the North Atlantic, the Faroe Islands is an isolated archipelago home to just 54,000 people.
Tunnel building began in the 1960s and has transformed this tiny island nation both geographically and socially.
More than two dozen tunnels now link communities that were once separated by mountains or sea.
The newest tunnels are engineering marvels burrowing under the sea.
Recently, the longest tunnel yet opened to the southern island of Sandoy, changing the lives of its small community.
