New South Wales (abbreviated as NSW) is a state on the east coast of Australia. It borders Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, South Australia to the west, the Tasman Sea to the east and surrounds the whole of the Australian Capital Territory. New South Wales' capital city is Sydney, which is also the nation's most populous city. In March 2014, the estimated population of New South Wales was 7.5 million, making it Australia's most populous state. Just under two-thirds of the state's population, 4.67 million, live in the Greater Sydney area. Inhabitants of New South Wales are referred to as New South Welshmen.
The colony of New South Wales was founded in 1788. It originally comprised a much larger area of the Australian mainland and also included Lord Howe Island, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Van Diemen's Land. During the 19th century, large areas were separated to form the British colonies of Tasmania, South Australia, New Zealand, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory (1863).
Day Trip (Hangul:청출어람;RR:Cheongchul-eoram) is a 2012 South Korean short film co-directed by Park Chan-wook and Park Chan-kyong. The film features a pansori master (Song Kang-ho) and his student (Jeon Hyo-jung).
The 18-minute short was released online on December 28, 2012 on the website of outdoor clothing brand Kolon Sport, and was funded by the company to mark its 40th anniversary.
This is the second project by the duo dubbed collectively as "PARKing CHANce," composed of film director Park Chan-wook and his brother Park Chan-kyong, who is known for his installation art, photography and experimental films. Their previous collaboration Night Fishing, shot entirely with an iPhone 4, won Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2011.
Plot
A master (Song Kang-ho) and his student (Jeon Hyo-jung) visit a mountain to practice pansori following a music competition that left the trainee disappointed.
Production
The film was shot in four days, and most of the scenes took place at Mount Namsan in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. The scenery served as the backdrop for the central pansori performances. Pansori is a genre of Korean folk music that harbors a range of emotions, including han, repressed bitterness and powerlessness that many say lingers in the Korean people. Day Trip highlights the traditional music's harmonious nature with the surrounding scenery by featuring a version of Sae Taryeong ("Song of Birds").
In the song, the character Derek (who is featured in the story line of Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)) attempts to convince his father, Arthur, of the great opportunities available in Australia, where there's "no drug addiction" and you can "surf like they do in the U.S.A." Derek's advertisement is compared to John Smith, who campaigned for America in a similar manner, by author Thomas Kitts.
The song also features a jam sequence lasting for approximately half the song, which is atypical for The Kinks. In the Australian single edit, this section is removed by editing an earlier section of the song into another section during a drum beat, which is then followed by a fade-out.
Australia is a Cuban village and consejo popular ("people's council", i.e. hamlet) of the municipality of Jagüey Grande, Matanzas Province. It has an estimated population of 8,850.
History
The village, founded in 1862, is in a sugar growing area and "dominated by the old, out-of-service sugar factory's chimney, with "Australia" written prominently down its length." The village is named after the factory, the Central Australia, which like others in the area were named after continents.
Located 2 km south of Jagüey Grande, Australia lies next to Zapata Swamp (Ciénaga de Zapata). It is served by the A1 motorway (linking Havana to Santa Clara) at the exit of Jagüey.
The NSW Government has made a tourism ad ahead of the coming election, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

Indigenous Australians have multiple flood "myths", with some that speak of waves taller than the tallest trees. These flood "myths" have now been corroborated by extensive geological research into the area. This overlap shows how important it is to preserve the stories of the earliest inhabitants of this land.

#megatsunami #tsunami #newsouthwales #australia #tidalwave #naturaldisaster #geology #geosciences
The Mega Tsunami that struck Jervis Bay in the recent past has been well documented by two geoscientists as early as 2001. This is the story of the massive wave that inundated this part of New South Wales. We will explore what evidence exists and what notable features we can see in the present day. This mega tsunami reached heights exceeding 130 meters or 426.5 feet. And it left behind the telltale signs of large flood events associated with tsunamis. From chevrons, to bedrock alteration, to the scraping off of topsoil leaving behind barren land dominated by nothing but bedrock and tsunamigenic deposits.
Indigenous Australians have multiple flood "myths", with some that speak of waves taller than the tallest trees. These flood "myths" have now been corroborated by extensive geological research into the area. This overlap shows how important it is to preserve the stories of the earliest inhabitants of this land.
