"Forever" is a song by the American rock band Kiss. It was released as the second single from the 1989 album Hot in the Shade.
Background
The track was co-written by guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley and singer/songwriter Michael Bolton. Bolton was then at the peak of his commercial popularity, and Bruce Kulick had performed with him prior to joining Kiss.
Musically, "Forever" is a power ballad. It begins with Stanley singing over an acoustic guitar intro, with the rest of the band joining during the first chorus.
The song was remixed at Electric Lady Recording Studios in New York, by Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson for commercial release as a single. A music video was released to promote the song. It received heavy airplay on MTV, attaining the #1 position on the channel's "Most Requested Videos" show several times. The clip is perhaps the most understated video Kiss has released, as it shows the band (then consisting of Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr) playing the song in an empty room.
Frail Words Collapse is the second studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. The album is their first release on the record label Metal Blade Records. Only two of the five current band-members (drummer Jordan Mancino and frontman Tim Lambesis) appeared on the album. Two of the band's signature songs, "94 Hours" and "Forever", appear on the album.
Music videos have been produced for the songs "94 Hours" and "Forever." The album has sold 250,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Babe is a Portuguese civil parish in the municipality of Bragança. The population in 2011 was 238, in an area of 25.62km².
History
A. Pereira Lopo, writing in 1898, alludes to the greatness of the Castro of Babe, which had been an important station during the Roman era. This includes many monuments located in its shadow, including altar stone dedicated to Jupiter (with the inscription "I.O.M.") and funerary stone ("A1 e EQVITIAL (ae) II") with vestiges of three figures in low relief.
It was situated on the Roman road from Braga to Castela. Remains of the Roman settlement are can be found in funerary crypts and Bronze Age implements. Popular tradition suggests that a road was built for Elizabeth of Portugal to pass through or beside the village.
There is no consensus about the origin of the name Babe. Some suggest Arabic Babi, which means small door (Portuguese:portinha). Others suggest that the name originated from the Roman era.
The modern parish of Babe, dates to the medieval period, when it was referred to as Sancti Petride Babi, which it would continue to remain until the 13th-century Inquirições of King Afonso III. The documents associated with the King's inventory are the first records of a parochial institution (1258), although it is likely that the local church had existed prior to these records. The church dedicated to São Pedro (Portuguese:Saint Peter), which, already on the decline, was substituted by the new Church of Santa Maria de Laviados, later to the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Conceição.
"Babe" is a song by the American rock band Styx. It was the lead single from the band's 1979 triple-platinum album Cornerstone. The song was Styx's first, and only, U.S. number-one single. It additionally held the number-one spot for six weeks on the CanadianRPM national singles chart, charting in December 1979 and becoming the opening chart-topper of the 1980s. It was also the band's only UK Top 40 hit, peaking at #6.
Background and content
The song was written by member Dennis DeYoung as a birthday present for his wife Suzanne. The finished track was recorded as a demo with just DeYoung and Styx members John Panozzo and Chuck Panozzo playing on the track, with DeYoung singing all of the harmonies himself.
The song was not originally intended to be a Styx track, but Styx members James "J.Y." Young and Tommy Shaw convinced DeYoung to put the song on Cornerstone. As a result, DeYoung's demo was placed on Cornerstone with Shaw overdubbing a guitar solo in the song's middle section. The track became a major hit, reaching #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and was their only major UK hit single, reaching #6. In 1999, "Babe" was included in the soundtrack to the movie Big Daddy, starring Adam Sandler, whose character is a huge fan of Styx.
Dancing is a compilation album by Italian singer Elisa that was released on July 15, 2008 in CD format in the United States and Canada. A digital version on iTunes was released on June 17, 2008 in the United States and on August 25, 2008 in Canada.
The album, released as part of an effort to introduce Elisa to North American audiences, is a compilation of recordings (some remixed) from previously released albums dating back to 2000.
Released of the full album was preceded by the released of an EP featuring the song "Dancing" which was released in December 2007. Beside the title track, the EP includes "Rock Your Soul" (also included on the Dancing album), along with a live version of '"Dancing'" recorded at the iTunes Festival in London.
The first single from the album is Rainbow in a new remix edition by Glen Ballard.
Track origins
The songs on the album were chosen by Elisa and are culled from most of her albums, with the exception of her first, Pipes & Flowers.
There is only one song from her second album Asile's World (2000): "A Little Over Zero." However this is a remixed version of the original.
