The NBA D-League, the official minor league of the National Basketball Association, held its National Tryout at Basketball City in New York City on Sunday, June 15, 2014. The event challenged over two hundred NBA D-League hopefuls, via full-court games, to showcase their skills for NBA D-League player personnel Executives, Coaches and industry scouts with the hopes of gaining eligibility for the NBA D-League Draft in November.

NBA Development League to become NBA Gatorade League
Beginning with the 2017-18 season, the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) will be renamed the NBA Gatorade League (NBA G League) as part of a multiyear expanded partnership announced today by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Gatorade. The Gatorade Sports Science Institute will help all 25 NBA G League teams develop advanced sports science and player nutrition programs. This marks the first time a U.S. professional sports league has named an entitlement partner.

Three more NBA franchises have purchased one-to-one affiliates for the 2016-17 season: the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls.
