Evangelicalism, Evangelical Christianity, or Evangelical Protestantism is a worldwide, transdenominational movement within ProtestantChristianity maintaining that the essence of the gospel consists in the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ's atonement. Evangelicals believe in the centrality of the conversion or "born again" experience in receiving salvation, in the authority of the Bible as God's revelation to humanity, and spreading the Christian message.

The Rise of Evangelicalism
Christians today wonder if evangelicals are only concerned about politics (Donald Trump, etc). But evangelicals in the 20th century have a longer history, not only in terms of their engagement with politics and culture, but in their own internal struggles to understand their faith in the modern world. This video tells the story of Neo-Evangelicalism, or the brand of evangelicalism that strove to be intellectually credible after the fights over Fundamentalism. The founding of Christianity Today and Fuller Seminary, for example, are part of the story of this new wave of evangelical thinking and writing.
