Slate is a fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanicash through low-grade regional metamorphism. It is the finest grained foliated metamorphic rock. Foliation may not correspond to the original sedimentary layering, but instead is in planes perpendicular to the direction of metamorphic compression.
A very strong foliation is called "slaty cleavage". It is caused by strong compression causing fine grained clay flakes to regrow in planes perpendicular to the compression. When expertly "cut" by striking parallel to the foliation, with a specialized tool in the quarry, many slates will form smooth flat sheets of stone which have long been used for roofing, floor tiles, and other purposes. Slate is frequently grey in color, especially when seen, en masse, covering roofs. However, slate occurs in a variety of colors even from a single locality; for example, slate from North Wales can be found in many shades of grey, from pale to dark, and may also be purple, green or cyan. Slate is not to be confused with shale, from which it may be formed, or schist.
Spider Riders(スパイダーライダーズ ~オラクルの勇者たち~,Supaidāraidāzu ~Orakuru no Yūsha-tachi~, Spider Riders ~the Heroes of Oracle~) is a series of science fiction novels first published in December 2004, published by Newmarket Press written by Tedd Anasti, Patsy Cameron-Anasti and Stephen D. Sullivan (books 2–3). The stories became the basis of the anime series produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment of Canada and Bee Train of Japan. The three novels are titled Spider Riders: Shards of the Oracle, Spider Riders: Reign of the Soul Eater, and Spider Riders: Quest of the Earthen. Spider Riders broadcasts on Teletoon, This TV, and used to broadcast on Kids' WB!. Koichi Mashimo co-directed the staff at Bee Train with Takaaki Ishiyama. Writer Yosuke Kuroda adapted the novels. Robert Pincombe and Shelly Hoffman wrote the English version.
Plot
Eleven-year-old Hunter Steel searches for the legendary inner world by following the instructions in his grandfather's journal. He enters a cave where he finds a mysterious manacle that attaches itself to him. A spider startles Hunter, who falls into a hole to the center of the Earth and into the subterranean world of Arachna. There, he discovers a small group of elite warriors struggling to survive and to save Arachna from the attack of giant insect mutants. The warriors are children, each fighting with the help of their own 10ft (3.0m) battle spiders. They call themselves "Spider Riders". In the English TV series, the ages of the characters were reduced.
The music video is based on Kardinal Offishall touring the far east. The beginning takes place in Toronto with him at the airport. In the next scene, he performs in Hong Kong. The following location takes place in Beijing and he arrives at Hotel G the night before he does another performance. The last minute of the video shows Kardinal Offishall in Shanghai and Singapore.
Carl expresses to his father his reservations about Michonne. They return to Rick and Carl's hometown and enter the police station where Rick previously worked but find the weapons locker is empty. The group then plans to retrieve guns from local establishments whose gun permits Rick signed, but they discover the entire community has been booby-trapped. A walker becomes entangled in one of the traps near where the group is walking, and a masked man on a rooftop shoots it. He then orders the three to drop their weapons and shoes and leave. The group initiates a gunfight. Carl shoots the man, though the bullet doesn't penetrate the man's ballistic vest. The unconscious man is revealed to be Morgan Jones (Lennie James), who helped Rick recover from his coma.
Clear was the third album released by Bomb The Bass, the dance/electronic collective formed around British producer and musician, Tim Simenon. Released in 1995, the album which consisted of eleven tracks, saw the band progress from sample-heavy dance tracks to more conventional song structures.
Darker in tone than was previously expected from an act that had helped usher in the dance explosion of the late-1980s with the proto-house music track, "Beat Dis", Clear replaces most of the vibrant breakbeats and pop art dialogue samples from their other albums, Into The Dragon and Unknown Territory, with lower toned dub aesthetics, and a full line-up of guest vocalists.
Bringing forward many of the lessons learnt from utilising unconventional sample-based sound sources, and the dance-orientated manipulation of existing sounds to present fresh textures, the tracks included on Clear are often referred to as fitting the term musique concrète.
