How Christianity really came to India (It wasn't Thomas) - Donald Fairbairn
When did Christianity arrive in India? There are three main possibilities:
1. The Apostle Thomas brought the gospel to India in the middle of the first century.
2. Pantaenus, a Jewish Christian philosopher from Alexandria, arrived in India in the second century and preached the Gospel to higher classes.
3. A large group of Persian Christians fled the Great Persecution in the fourth century. They traveled to India and brought Christianity with them. This is the version most accepted by historians.

"Hymn to Saint Michael" by Robert Lehman | Musical Highlight from the Saint Thomas Choir
On Sunday, September 29 the choir sang Robert Lehman's Hymn to Saint Michael as we celebrated Michaelmas at our 4 pm Festal Evensong Service.
Jesu, life-spring of the soul, the Father’s power, and glory bright!
Thee with the angels we extol; from thee they draw their life and light.
Thy thousand hosts are spread embattled over the azure sky;
but Michael bears thy standard dread, and lifts the mighty cries on high.
He in that sign the rebel powers did with their dragon prince expel;
and hurled them from the heaven’s high towers down like a thunderbolt to hell.
Grant us with Michael still, O Lord, against the Prince of Pride to fight;
so may a crown be our reward, before the Lord’s pure throne of light.
Urban VIII (1568-1644), from the hymn Tibi, Christi, ...

St. Thomas the Apostle is believed to have travelled to Kerala and set the foundation of Christianity in India after the death of Jesus Christ. Is this a true story or only a tradition? This video explores the fascinating story of St. Thomas, the beginning of Christianity in India and attempts to distinguish facts from fiction.
The video based on the book QUEST FOR THE HISTORICAL THOMAS APOSTLE OF INDIA, a Re-reading of the Evidence. By Fr. George Nedungatt SJ tries to analyse all the theories surrounding the tradition of St. Thomas. Beginning from the meaning of the term 'India', we look at the apocryphal work 'Acts of Thomas' and the writings of Church Fathers. Other popular theories include that of St. Bartholomew and Thomas of Kinayi. We then consider the rich and diverse Indian Tradition which includes the tradition centring around Taxila and then proceeds to look at the South Indian traditon revolving around the tomb at Mylapore and the miracles and works of St. Thomas.

Thy thousand hosts are spread embattled over the azure sky;
but Michael bears thy standard dread, and lifts the mighty cries on high.
He in that sign the rebel powers did with their dragon prince expel;
and hurled them from the heaven’s high towers down like a thunderbolt to hell.
Grant us with Michael still, O Lord, against the Prince of Pride to fight;
so may a crown be our reward, before the Lord’s pure throne of light.

Paris Olympics Organisers "Really Sorry" For 'Last Supper' As US Sponsor Pulls Out After Backlash
The opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympic Games has sparked a furious backlash from Christian viewers around the world. The 2024 Paris games organisers have apologised to Christian groups angered by a tableau in the Olympic Games opening ceremony. The tableau had parodied Leonardo Da Vinci's famous 'The Last Supper' painting.
The segment resembled the biblical scene of Jesus Christ and his apostles sharing a last meal before crucifixion. It featured drag queens, a transgender model and a naked singer who represented the Greek god of wine Dionysus. The parody drew sharp criticism from the Catholic Church and the religious right.

Paris Olympics drag performance at opening ceremony criticized for blasphemy and controversy. The world watched in disbelief as the Paris Olympics took a controversial turn with its performance lineup.
A drag performance involving children, apparently reimagining The Last Supper is being widely condemned as "hyper-sexualised" and "blasphemous" by online critics.
The performance, which was part of a broader artistic expression, has divided public opinion. The opening ceremony for the 33rd Olympic Games on Friday featured several high-profile artists, including Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, and others.
