China National Salt Industry Corporation (Chinese:中国盐业总公司), abbreviated as China Salt (Chinese:中盐), is a state-owned enterprise of China which controls a monopoly over the management and production of edible salt. The company employs 48,476 workers, and controls assets worth 44.19 billion yuan (US $7 billion) as of 2011.
Background
Within the history of China, every dynasty instituted a salt monopoly system, originally intended mainly for taxation purposes. Since salt was an essential and irreplaceable commodity used in everyday life, and therefore was viable as a stable source of government revenue, various historical rulers employed a salt monopoly which forbade the production and sales of salt by commoners. The practice of monopolizing salt began during the rule of Emperor Wu of Han, and during the Tang dynasty, income obtained from salt taxes by the salt commission accounted for greater than half the government revenue; during the Yuan dynasty, this figure reached 80%. With the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the practice of state monopolization of salt persisted; the salt tax continued to form a significant proportion of government revenue, representing 5.49% of the total national tax in 1950, however with a shift in economic development, this has diminished to 0.04% in 2006.
China is the debut studio album by hard rock band China, released in 1988, through record label Vertigo. The singles of this album were "Hot Lovin' Night", "Shout It Out" and "Wild Jealousy".
China's Salt Intake: Salt consumption amongst highest in the world
For thousands of years - Chinese cooking has had one staple ingredient. It's widely considered to be the most important part of any recipe. But it's also increasing their risk of death and disease.

China Panic Buying Salt in Huge Quantity
Why is China panic-buying salt? For all the propaganda reasons.
The Fukushima power plant in Japan started to release water on Thursday. And Chinese people listening to the CCP's propaganda think it's over for salt.
The Chinese government also banned seafood imports from Japan.
China's own power plants release up to 65 times more in water with radioactive material than Japan does.
Will they keep that ban for 30 years? That's how long the water release will be.
Let me tell you why this is a stupid reaction because of the CCP's own contradictions.

Salt City, China - Ancient Salt Mining in Sichuan
I traveled to Zigong China, where they've been drawing brine from the ground and turning into salt for almost 2000 years.
Salt is one of the most important commodities in the history of China. It advanced technolgy and changed the way the country looked at money. The need for salt was so high, that people claimed it was more valuable than gold.
We visit Zigong's salt museum and an ancient salt well where they are still extracting water using the ancient method from a 1000 meter hole in the ground and turning into amazing salt.
