The California Streets and Highways Code defines Route 105 as "from Pershing Drive near El Segundo to Route 605," but Caltrans never constructed the segment from Sepulveda Boulevard to Pershing Drive. Motorists can continue west via Imperial Highway over conventional roadway to Pershing Drive, but it is not part of Route 105 nor is it under state maintenance.

Century Freeway Origins: Our History
Century Housing originated from a turbulent chapter in Los Angeles history involving the construction of the Century Freeway. Legal actions by residents who were displaced resulted in the establishment of the Century Freeway Housing Program, a state agency. In 1995, this agency transitioned into a private nonprofit organization — a unique occurrence in California’s history — and was renamed Century Housing.

Santa Fe 3751 - Steam Train in the middle of the Freeway
There is a train track in the middle of a freeway in California, the Freeway is called Interstate 10 and the train is the Santa Fe 3751 Steam Train, built in 1927.
After researching this topic is seems fairly common in America for putting rail lines in Highway medians, down middle of freeways or even down the main streets on a small town.
But I still found it interesting as it looks so close to the cars on the Freeway.
Thanks for watching.

Caltrans Rewind: The I-105, The Last Freeway (1994)
To commemorate the I-105 Freeway opening day of 10/14/1993 we present from the District 7 archives a video called "The Last Freeway". At that time we thought it would be the last freeway built in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. And it was, until we completed the I-210 extension in 2002.
Interesting fact:
The freeway opened on District 7 Director Jerry Baxter's (1987-1994) birthday. Coincidence?
