Canoe.ca is a Canadian portal site and website network, and is a subsidiary of Quebecor Media. The phrase Canadian Online Explorer appears in the header of the English version of the site; the name is also evidently a play on words on canoe (or canoë in French). Canoe's head office is in Toronto at 333 King Street East.
Canoe.ca is a provider of news, entertainment and services, and is in the top 100 domains in Canada by traffic according to Alexa Internet. The Canoe Network attracts over 7.7 million monthly visitors and includes separate English and French portals at en.canoe.ca and fr.canoe.ca, information verticals like Cnews, Slam!, Jam! and Lifewise, as well as the Sun Media newspaper sites. Canoe.ca also offers online services in the fields of employment and continuing education (Jobboom.com), housing (Homes-Extra.ca), automobiles (Autonet.ca and ASL Internet. ASL Internet is an abbreviated Aged Stock Limited incorporated in 2002 by James Kovacs and sold to Canoe in 2008), personals (reseaucontact.com), social networks (space.canoe.ca), classified ads (classifiedextra.ca) and advertising solutions (canoeklix.ca).
A dental explorer or sickle probe is an instrument in dentistry commonly used in the dental armamentarium. A sharp point at the end of the explorer is used to enhance tactile sensation.
In the past it was usual for dentists to use the explorer to determine the presence of toothdecay on tooth enamel. Some dental professionals have questioned this practice in the first decade of the twenty-first century. Since enamel is demineralized in the early stages of tooth decay, the use of an explorer opens a cavity in the enamel where none existed previously. Instead, they argue that fluoride and oral hygiene should be used to remineralize the enamel and prevent it from decaying further. This debate still continues because sometimes decay can be difficult to diagnose without tactile verification. Additionally, radiographs and other products designed to identify decay (such as measuring fluorescence from a laser) help the dental professional make a final diagnosis of tooth decay.
There are various types of explorers, though the most common one is the No. 23 explorer, which is also known as a "shepherd's hook". Other types include the 3CH (also known as "cowhorn" or "pigtail") and No. 17 explorers, which are useful for the interproximal areas between teeth.
After inquiring about the cost of chartering one of the Colorado River steamboats of George Alonzo Johnson, and finding their rates too high, Lt. Ives ordered a steamboat built in 1857:
After being transported by the Panama Railroad across the Isthmus to the Pacific Ocean the Explorer was shipped again by steamship from Panama City up to San Francisco. From there expedition sailed with the parts of the steamboat on the deck of the schoonerMonterey to the Colorado River Delta where it arrived November 30. There Ives oversaw its reassembly and launch on December 30, 1857 at Robinson's Landing, Baja California. David C. Robinson, owner of the landing and a pilot for George Alonzo Johnson, was made captain of the boat.
After Ives used the Explorer to ascend the Colorado River he sent it back to Fort Yuma with Richardson. There it was put up for auction and sold to George A. Johnson for $1000. He had its engine and paddle wheel removed and used it for a barge to carry firewood to steamboat landings. In 1864 it broke free from it moorings at Pilot Knob and was carried away 60 miles down river into the Delta where it sank in a slough, sometimes seen by passing steamers, until the river moved away from the location and it was hidden by the delta foliage and lost. Its wreck was found in 1929, by a survey party, in a dried up slough miles away from the new course of the river. A mere skeleton remained, its iron plates long ago removed to make comales for baking tortillas.

Trousers (pants in North America) are an item of clothing worn from the waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately (rather than with cloth extending across both legs as in robes, skirts, and dresses).
In the UK the word "pants" generally means underwear and not trousers.Shorts are similar to trousers, but with legs that come down only to around the area of the knee, higher or lower depending on the style of the garment. To distinguish them from shorts, trousers may be called "long trousers" in certain contexts such as school uniform, where tailored shorts may be called "short trousers", especially in the UK.
In most of the Western world, trousers have been worn since ancient times and throughout the Medieval period, becoming the most common form of lower-body clothing for adult males in the modern world, although shorts are also widely worn, and kilts and other garments may be worn in various regions and cultures. Breeches were worn instead of trousers in early modern Europe by some men in higher classes of society. Since the mid-20th century, trousers have increasingly been worn by women as well. Jeans, made of denim, are a form of trousers for casual wear, now widely worn all over the world by both sexes. Shorts are often preferred in hot weather or for some sports and also often by children and teenagers. Trousers are worn on the hips or waist and may be held up by their own fastenings, a belt or suspenders (braces). Leggings are form-fitting trousers, of a clingy material, often knittedcotton and spandex (elastane).
Canadian culture is a term that embodies the artistic, culinary, literary, humour, musical, political and social elements that are representative of Canada and Canadians. Throughout Canada's history, its culture has been influenced by European culture and traditions, especially British and French, and by its own indigenous cultures. Over time, elements of the cultures of Canada's immigrant populations have become incorporated into mainstream Canadian culture. The population has also been influenced by American culture because of a shared language, proximity and migration between the two countries.
The terms "online" and "offline" have specific meanings in regard to computer technology and telecommunications in which "online" indicates a state of connectivity, while "offline" indicates a disconnected state. Common vernacular extended from their computing and telecommunication meanings and refers specifically to an Internet connection. Lastly, in the area of human interaction and conversation, discussions taking place during a business meeting are "online", while issues that do not concern all participants of the meeting should be "taken offline" — continued outside of the meeting.
Definitions
In computer technology and telecommunication, online and offline are defined by Federal Standard 1037C. They are states or conditions of a "device or equipment" or of a "functional unit". To be considered online, one of the following may apply to a system: it is under the direct control of another device; it is under the direct control of the system with which it is associated; or it is available for immediate use on demand by the system without human intervention.
3-DAY SOLO Wilderness Canoe Camping | BWCA 2022 vlog
Escape with me into the wilderness. Loons, Otters, Beavers, calm waters, and a few mosquitoes made this trip magic. Solo camping with a forecast of heavy rain was intimidating, but the heavy rain stayed away for the most part. My first canoe camping trip of this season was a solo trip and I enjoyed it a ton.

Lost In The Wilderness Hundreds Of Kilometres From Civilization
🔴 Check out this wild paddling adventure to the Bering Sea, SOLO! 🔴 https://youtu.be/x6_KQfUnedM?si=4Bl6Ry8LttbCT-ck
Wolf Wagner and John Hönstch had a dream to paddle the Canadian wilderness. In 2017 they headed to remote northern Manitoba to take on the Hayes River. When disaster struck, they were hundreds of kilometres from civilization with no way to contact anyone in case of an emergency.
Be respectful in the comments, otherwise your comment will promptly end up lost in the swampy, muskeg of Nothern Manitoba.

PROS & CONS KEVLAR Canoes for Canoe Camping
I share what I have learned in my 15+ years canoe camping in the BWCA. Kevlar canoes are made from the material called kevlar. There are lots of reasons why Kevlar is great for canoe camping and some cautions I also want to share. I will be making a few videos about canoes sharing pros and cons of other materials as well. Canoes made of royalex, aluminum, fiberglass, and even cedar strips.

This short film tells the tale of the men who drove big freighter canoes into the wilderness in the days when the fur trade was Canada's biggest business. The film recreates scenes of the early 19th century with a soundtrack by an all-male chorus.
Directed by Bernard Gosselin - 1964

I share what I have learned in my 15+ years canoe camping in the BWCA. Kevlar canoes are made from the material called kevlar. There are lots of reasons why Kevlar is great for canoe camping and some cautions I also want to share. I will be making a few videos about canoes sharing pros and cons of other materials as well. Canoes made of royalex, aluminum, fiberglass, and even cedar strips.

CTV News is Canada's most-watched news organization both locally and nationally, and has a network of national, international, and local news operations.
