The Southern Buh, also called Boh River (in Ukrainian) and Southern Bug (in Russian), (Ukrainian:Південний Буг, Pivdennyi Buh: Russian:Южный Буг, Yuzhny Bug), is a river located in Ukraine. The second longest river in Ukraine.
The source of the river is in the west of Ukraine, in the Volyn-Podillia Upland, about 145km from the Polish border, from where it flows southeasterly into the Bug Estuary (Black Sea basin) through the southern steppes. It is 806 kilometres (501mi) long and drains 63,700km².
Herodotus (c. 484–425 BCE) refers to the river using its ancient Greek name: Hypanis. During the Migration Period of the 5th to the 8th centuries CE the Southern Bug represented a major obstacle to all the migrating peoples in the area.
Biological hazards, also known as biohazards, refer to biological substances that pose a threat to the health of living organisms, primarily that of humans. This can include medical waste or samples of a microorganism, virus or toxin (from a biological source) that can affect human health. It can also include substances harmful to other animals.
The term and its associated symbol are generally used as a warning, so that those potentially exposed to the substances will know to take precautions. The biohazard symbol was developed in 1966 by Charles Baldwin, an environmental-health engineer working for the Dow Chemical Company on the containment products.
It is used in the labeling of biological materials that carry a significant health risk, including viral samples and used hypodermic needles.
Bio hazardous agents are classified for transportation by UN number:
Category A, UN 2814 – Infectious substance, affecting humans: An infectious substance in a form capable of causing permanent disability or life-threatening or fatal disease in otherwise healthy humans or animals when exposure to it occurs.
Biohazard, subtitled The Chilling True Story of the Largest Covert Biological Weapons Program in the World - Told from Inside by the Man Who Ran It, is the title of a 1999 book by former Sovietbiological warfare researcher Ken Alibek that purports to expose the former Soviet Union's extensive covert biological weapons program.
The book is a semi-romanticized auto-biography depicting the life of a bioweapons developer. It was first published by Hutchinson in the United Kingdom in 1999, then re-released by Arrow Books in 2000.
For the most part, the book's assertions recently have been confirmed by U.S. and other Westernmicrobiological and bioweapons authorities, while site-visiting many of the laboratory and weapons production sites and cataloguing the pathogens.
The book

Biological Hazards: A Type of Hazard in the Workplace
In this video I will be giving a brief overview of Biological Hazards, which is an important type of occupational hazard that a worker can be potentially exposed to!
We will be going over the health effects that biological hazards can have on the human body, the types of transmission modalities and what occupational factors impact on the susceptibility for exposure. Finally we go over the types of controls which should be in place to manage biological hazards in the workplace.
