Blue Öyster Cult (often abbreviated BÖC) is an American rock band from Long Island, New York, whose most successful work includes the hard rock and heavy metal songs "(Don't Fear) The Reaper", "Godzilla" and "Burnin' for You". Since the release of their eponymous debut album in 1972, the band has sold over 24 million albums worldwide, including 7 million in the United States alone. The band's music videos, especially "Burnin' for You", received heavy rotation on MTV when the music television network premiered in 1981, cementing the band's contribution to the development and success of the music video in modern pop culture.
Blue Öyster Cult's longest lasting and most commercially successful lineup included Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser (lead guitar, vocals), Eric Bloom (lead vocals, "stun guitar"), Allen Lanier (keyboards, rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Joe Bouchard (bass, backing vocals) and Albert Bouchard (drums, percussion, backing vocals). The band's current lineup includes Roeser and Bloom, as well as Jules Radino (drums, percussion), Richie Castellano (keyboard, rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Kasim Sulton (bass, backing vocals).
Blue Öyster Cult is the eponymous debut album by the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released on January 16, 1972 (see 1972 in music). The album featured songs such as "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll", "Stairway to the Stars", and "Then Came the Last Days of May", all of which the band still plays regularly during its concerts. Despite positive reviews, the album failed to chart for some time before finally cracking the Billboard 200 on May 20, 1972, peaking at No. 172. Blue Öyster Cult toured with artists such as The Byrds, Alice Cooper and the Mahavishnu Orchestra to support the album.
The album received a positive reaction from critics. Lester Bangs gave the album a generally positive review in Rolling Stone stating, "with the Blue Öyster Cult, New York has produced its first authentic boogie beast, and with any luck this one should be around for awhile [sic]" telling readers that "I don't think you should miss this album."Circus wrote that "it could well be the album of the Seventies", while Robert Christgau in The Village Voice called it "the tightest and most musical hard rock record since – dare I say it – Who's Next". The record was named an honorable mention on IGN's list of "Top 25 Metal Albums" and has been called "Heavy metal for people who hate heavy metal."
Dizə or Diza may refer to:
FILE_ID.DIZ is a plain text file containing a brief content description of the archive in which it is included. It was originally used in archives distributed through bulletin board systems (BBS).
Bulletin boards commonly accept uploaded files from their users. The BBS software would prompt the user to supply a description for the uploaded file, but these descriptions were often less than useful. BBS system operators spent many hours going over the upload descriptions correcting and editing the descriptions. The FILE_ID.DIZ inclusion in archives was designed to address this problem.
FILE_ID stands for "file identification". DIZ stands for Description In Zipfile.
Clark Development and the Association of Shareware Professionals supported the idea of this becoming a standard for file descriptions. Clark rewrote the PCBDescribe program and included it with their PCBoard BBS software. The ASP urged their members to use this description file format in their distributions. Michael Leavitt, an employee of Clark Development, released the file specification and his PCBDescribe program source code to the public domain and urged other BBS software companies to support the DIZ file.

Great Rock Albums
This is the second installment in the "First Ten Minutes" series. Blue Oyster Cult is a band that rose to prominence in the 1970s and established themselves as a heavy rock band with songs about extra terrestrials, apparitions, and rock and roll. The ride to success was not smooth and the band faltered at least twice as they tried to capitalize on the success of a previous album. Nevertheless, they remain a classic band and a favourite of many. Note: After I mentioned the YouTuber who referred to "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" as "Veteran of the Psych Ward", I too began to refer to the song by the same mistaken title. How embarrassing! My sincere apologies!

1971 auf Long Island,New York gegründet klang eine mysteriösen Bands überhaupt wie
eine Mischung aus Doors,Black Sabbath,Rolling Stones und MC 5.
Eric Bloom (Gesang),Albert Bouchard (Gitarre),Joe Bouchard(Bass) und Allen
Lanier(Schlagzeug) behandelten in ihren Stücken
menschliche Abgründe,die besonders in ihrer
erfolgreichsten Single
"(Don't fear) the reaper",enthalten auf der
1976 erschienen LP "Agents of Fortune" zum
Ausdruck kommen.Auf dieser, ihrer erfolgreichsten Platte, orientierten sie sich
soundtechnisch stark an den Byrds.
"Astronomy","Flamming Telepaths",
"I love the night" sowie der von Patti Smith,
der Geliebten des Schlagzeugers,geschriebene
"Career of Evil" sorgten für Anspruch.
1980 bekam die Band mit Michael Moorcock einen neuen Songwriter, der auf dem
9.Album "Cultosaurus Erectus" sofort glänzen konnte.Zwischendurch hatte man mal eben
