We're quitting smoking, so why is big tobacco booming?
Smoking rates are falling in the UK, US and much of Europe. Forty-five per cent of Brits smoked in the 60s and 70s, compared with just 15% today. You would think this was bad news for cigarette profits, but tobacco companies are making more money than ever. They claim they no longer market traditional cigarettes, but behind-the scenes tactics suggest otherwise. Leah Green explains how the most successful business enterprise in history has weathered its fall from grace

E-Cigarettes : Welcome Back, Big Tobacco - the fifth estate
Big Tobacco is trying clean up its image, moving into the booming e-cigarette business which continuing to peddle the deadly tobacco products. This has left public health officials in Canada, the U.K. and the US
Five million Canadians still smoke. Could e-cigarettes help wean them over to a safer nicotine delivery device? Many ex-smokers say 'yes.' E-cigarettes are their salvation.

A gripping investigation covering three continents, Nadia Collot's film exposes the vast conspiracy of a criminally negligent industry that conquers new markets through corruption and manipulation. To confront the tobacco cartel, anti-smoking groups are organizing and scoring points, but the fight remains fierce. With tobacco sales slowing, Big Tobacco had to look elsewhere to expand its business. That's when they turned to Big Food, the industry of processed, sugary, and salty food (i.e. junk food). In this episode of America Uncovered, we look at the decline of Big Tobacco, what food brands Big Tobacco bought up, and why it started marketing to kids.

Health Canada is on the cusp of deciding how e-cigarettes should be regulated. Mark Kelly heads to England -- a country that has taken bold steps in embracing the e-cigarette as a safer alternative. Will Canada? And what will this mean for our e-cigarette industry?
Until now, e-cigarettes with nicotine have not been endorsed by Health Canada. And that's kept Big Tobacco out of the Canadian market. Will new regulations open the doors for a tarred industry to join in the e-cigarette revolution?

One of the world's largest tobacco companies has put out an ad telling people to quit smoking cigarettes. But why would they do such a thing when it's one of their core products? Turns out, they just want to push you onto a different product - the electronic version of the e-cigarette. #Gruen

In Australia, cigarette advertising has been banned for decades, which is why it's great to see an anti-smoking campaign like this.
Our message is simple. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you smoke, quit. If you don't quit, change. Unsmoke your world.
Unsmoke? I don't un-derstand. Who made that virtuous campaign?
Unsmoke your world.
(GROANS)
That's right, cigarette giant Philip Morris. Ooh, I hope they catch those dastardly bastards selling all those cigarettes. I guess that does explain why these campaign graphics reminded me of something...
(LAUGHTER AND GROANS)
So why does a company that still sells 800 billion cigarettes a year want you to stop using its product? Turns out Philip Morris has another product. An e-cigarette, or "heat stick", called the IQOS, which heats tobacco.
