Belle Isle is a small (540-acre (2.2km2)) island in the city of Richmond, Virginia. Belle Island lies within the James River, and being owned by the city it serves as a city park. It is accessible to pedestrian and bicycle traffic via a suspensionfootbridge that runs under the Robert E. Lee Bridge from the northern shore of the James. Except when the water level of the James is high, it is also reachable by foot from the southern shore via easy boulder-hopping. From Belle Isle, one can see Hollywood Cemetery, the old Tredegar Iron Works, and Richmond City's skyline. Belle Isle has many bike trails around the island, and has a small cliff used for rock climbing instruction.
History
Belle Isle was originally known as Broad Rock Island. It was first explored by Captain John Smith in 1607. In the 18th century the island was occupied by a fishery. In 1814, the Old Dominion Iron and Nail Company completed a nail factory. During the 1860s, the island was inhabited by a village complete with a school, church, and general store.
Belle-Île formed a canton until 2015 when it was merged into Quiberon as part of a general overhaul.
Geography
The island measures 17km by 9km and has an average altitude of 40 m. The area is about 84km2. The coasts are a mixture between dangerously sharp cliff edges on the southwest side, the Côte Sauvage (Wild coast), and placid beaches, the largest being les Grands Sables (The great sands) and navigable harbours on the northeast side. The island's climate is oceanic, having less rain and milder winters than on the mainland.
The two main ports are Le Palais (accessible by ferry from Quiberon, Port-Navalo and Vannes) and Sauzon (accessible by ferry from Quiberon and Lorient).
This is Beatty's and Keaton's first film together since 1981's Reds, and Beatty's third film with Hawn since 1971's $ and 1975's Shampoo. To date, this is Beatty's last appearance on screen.
Plot
Porter Stoddard is so prosperous an architect, he has New York homes on Park Avenue and in the Hamptons, as well as a vacation lodge out west in Sun Valley. He has been married for 25 years to the equally successful Ellie, an interior designer, but has been having an affair with Alex, a beautiful young cellist.
There is trouble brewing in the marriage of their best friends. Mona Morris wants a divorce from antique-dealer husband Griffin, catching him having a hotel tryst. The part she did not catch is that Griffin's new romantic partner is a cross-dressing man.
"Town and Country" was Humble Pie's second studio album, released in August 1969, in the UK only.
Conceived at Steve Marriott's 16th century "Arkesden" cottage in Moreton, Essex, England, "Town and Country" offered different approach for Humble Pie, following the "roots rock" trend started by the Beatles with "Get Back". The finished LP was a departure from the "heavy" sound prevalent on Humble Pie's first album. The Beatles had initiated the "back to the roots" movement, an effort to rediscover the joys of old-time rock 'n' roll, eschewing electric guitars, and the "heavy" sound that had swept rock 'n' roll in 1968, opting instead for acoustic instruments. Humble Pie's effort blended these elements into a tasteful, and very listenable, record. The disc, a definite improvement over their first LP, "As Safe As Yesterday", bolstered the group's reputation, despite their record company's woes, and disappointing sales.
Immediate Records rushed the album into UK record shops in the Fall of 1969, hoping the record would enter the charts before the company went bankrupt. However, with no promotional budget to promote it, the album quickly sank without a trace. The LP wasn't released in the US, at that time, although the band was on its first American tour when the album was released, but it got a lot of attention on underground FM stations.
Reuniting with director Rob Reiner once again after hit film The Bucket List, Morgan Freeman plays Monte Wildhorn, a famous novelist whose struggle with alcoholism has sapped his passion for writing.
Taking residence for the summer in a lakeside cabin in picturesque Belle Isle, Monte befriends the family next door—an attractive single mom (Virginia Madsen) and her young daughters—who re-invigorate his passions and help him find inspiration again. #TheMagicOfBelleIsle

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
One evening for pleasure I rambled to view
The fair fields all alone
Down by the banks of Loch Eiron
Where beauty and pleasure were known
[Verse 2]
I spied a fair maid at her labour
Which caused me to stay for a while
And I thought of a goddess to beauty
Bloomin' bright star of Bright Isle
[Verse 3]
I humbled myself to her beauty
"Fair maiden, where do you belong?
Are you from heaven descended
Abiding in Cupid's fair throne?"
[Verse 4]
"Young man, I will tell you a secret
It's true I'm a maid that is poor
And to part from my vows and my promise
Is more than my heart can endure
[Verse 5]
Therefore I remain at my service
And go through all my hardship and toil
And wait for the lad that has left me
All alone on the banks of Belle Isle."
[Verse 6]
"Young maiden I wish not to banter
It's true I come here in disguise
I came here to fulfill our last promise
And hope to give you a surprise
[Verse 7]
I've known you're a maid I love dearly
And you've been in my heart all the while
For me there is no other damsel
Than my blooming bright star of Belle Isle."

While digging on Belle Isle in near Detroit, formerly knows as Hog Island, workers uncover a large statue that had been lost underground for many years. What is the statue of? Where did it come from?
Prior to it becoming the park we all know today, the island near the top end of the Detroit river had many names and purposes, and its history grew increasingly dicey the more the settlers disturbed the native tribes. According to Farmer’s history, the Indigenous tribes called the island Mahnahbezee, or “the swan.” It was lush with trees and lagoons.
Wild rice grew along many of the banks in the Detroit River, one could assume Belle Isle was no different. Indigenous people gathered it by knocking it into their canoes and wigwams with small corn fields, and gardens were seen in the clearings of many islands in the Detroit River.
To the French, its formal name was Isle St. Claire, but they also called it Ilse au Cochan or Hog Island because of its immense hog population. It was said pigs were kept there for two reasons, to keep them from being eaten by wolves, and to keep the rattlesnake population at bay.
The island remained under French control even though it was said to be granted to Monsieur Douville Dequindre in 1752. When the French ceded the Fort to the British, it was the site of a tragic murder of a family living on the island during Pontiac’s Rebellion in 1763 and where captives of the Rebellion were massacred.
In 1768 under George III, the island passed hands to Lieutenant George McDougall with the condition that the British could use it for military purposes. According to Silas Farmer’s history, the very next year, McDougall legally purchased the island from the Ottawa and Chippewa tribes for eight barrels of rum, three rolls of tobacco, three pounds of vermilion (a red pigment found in California and Nevada), a belt of wampum (beads made from shells), and three pounds of paint.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
One evening for pleasure I rambled to view
The fair fields all alone
Down by the banks of Loch Eiron
Where beauty and pleasure were known
[Verse 2]
I spied a fair maid at her labour
Which caused me to stay for a while
And I thought of a goddess to beauty
Bloomin' bright star of Bright Isle
[Verse 3]
I humbled myself to her beauty
"Fair maiden, where do you belong?
Are you from heaven descended
Abiding in Cupid's fair throne?"
[Verse 4]
"Young man, I will tell you a secret
It's true I'm a maid that is poor
And to part from my vows and my promise
Is more than my heart can endure
[Verse 5]
Therefore I remain at my service
And go through all my hardship and toil
And wait for the lad that has left me
All alone on the banks of Belle Isle."
[Verse 6]
"Young maiden I wish not to banter
It's true I come here in disguise
I came here to fulfill our last promise
And hope to give you a surprise
[Verse 7]
I've known you're a maid I love dearly
And you've been in my heart all the while
For me there is no other damsel
Than my blooming bright star of Belle Isle."
