What is Behavioral modernity. The meaning of Behavioral modernity pronunciation Behavioral modernity definition Behavioral modernity How to say Behavioral modernity
Behavioral modernity is a suite of behavioral and cognitive traits that
distinguishes current Homo sapiens from other anatomically modern humans,
hominins, and primates. Although often debated, most scholars agree that
modern human behavior can be characterized by abstract thinking, planning
depth, symbolic behavior (e.g., art, ornamentation, music), exploitation of
large game, and blade technology, among others. Underlying these behaviors and
technological innovations are cognitive and cultural foundations that have
been documented experimentally and ethnographically. Some of these human

Tool Use and Evolution:John Shea - Behavioral Modernity vs. Complexity: What Stone Tools Teach Us
This symposium addresses the interactive gene-culture co-evolution of the human brain with tool use and technology - ranging from simple stone tools millions of years ago to computers today. The stone tool record begins to exhibit increasingly complex variability during a period correlated with Homo sapiens origin and dispersal. This complex variability most likely reflects an evolving relationship between technology and spoken language –an uniquely derived human behavior, that intensified as humans became Earth’s only obligatory tool-using primate. John Shea, Stony Brook University, New York. Recorded on 10/12/2018. [2/2019] [Show ID: 34193]

Some of these human
universal patterns are cumulative cultural adaptation, social norms, language,
and extensive help and cooperation beyond close kin. It has been argued that
the development of these modern behavioral traits, in combination with the
climatic conditions of the Last Glacial Maximum, was largely responsible for
the human replacement of Neanderthals and the peopling of the rest of the
world.
Arising from differences in the archaeological record, a debate continues as
to whether anatomically modern humans were behaviorally modern as well. There
are many theories on the evolution of behavioral modernity. These generally
fall into two camps: gradualist and cognitive approaches. The Later Upper
Paleolithic Model refers to the idea that modern human behavior arose through
cognitive, genetic changes abruptly around 40,000–50,000 years ago. Other
models focus on how modern human behavior may have arisen through gradual
steps; the archaeological signatures of such behavior only appearing through
demographic or subsistence-based changes. Thanks for Watching please like and subscribe!

Mix Pop Music. Humans (Homo sapiens) of all sex are the most abundant and widespread species of primate, characterized by bipedalism and large, complex brains. This has enabled the development of advanced tools, culture, and language. Humans are highly social and tend to live in complex social structures composed of many cooperating and competing groups, from families and kinship networks to political states. Social interactions between humans have established a wide variety of values, social norms, and rituals, which bolster human society. Curiosity and the human desire to understand and influence the environment and to explain and manipulate phenomena have motivated humanity's development of science, philosophy, mythology, religion, and other fields of study.
Although some scientists equate the term humans with all members of the genus Homo, in common usage it generally refers to Homo sapiens, the only extant member. Anatomically modern humans emerged around 300,000 years ago in Africa, evolving from Homo heidelbergensis or a similar species and migrating out of Africa, gradually replacing local populations of archaic humans. For most of history, all humans were nomadic hunter-gatherers. Humans began exhibiting behavioral modernity about 160,000-60,000 years ago. The Neolithic Revolution, which began in Southwest Asia around 13,000 years ago (and separately in a few other places), saw the emergence of agriculture and permanent human settlement. As populations became larger and denser, forms of governance developed within and between communities and a number of civilizations have risen and fallen. Humans have continued to expand, with a global population of over 7.9 billion as of 2022.
