Graham William Nash, OBE (born 2 February 1942) is a British singer-songwriter known for his light tenor voice and for his songwriting contributions with the British pop group The Hollies, and with the folk-rock super group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. A dual citizen of the United Kingdom and United States, Nash became an American citizen on 14 August 1978.
Nash is a photography collector and a published photographer. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1997 and as a member of The Hollies in 2010.
Nash was born in 1942 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, his mother having been evacuated there from the Nashes' hometown of Salford, Lancashire because of the Second World War. The family subsequently returned to Salford, where Graham grew up. In the early 1960s he co-founded The Hollies, one of the UK's most successful pop groups, with schoolfriend Allan Clarke. Credited on the first album as "Group Leader", he occasionally took a lead vocal. Nash was featured vocally on "Just One Look" in 1964, and sang his first lead vocal on the original Hollies song "To You My Love" on the band's second album In The Hollies Style (1964). He then progressed to often singing featured bridge vocals on Hollies recordings; "So Lonely", "I've Been Wrong", "Pay You Back With Interest". Also by 1966 Nash was providing a few solo lead vocals on Hollies albums & then from 1967 also on B-sides to singles, notably "On a Carousel" and "Carrie Anne".
Graham Nash (born 25 December 1979) is Countdown's 43rd Champion and the 11th Champion of Champions. His current record stands at 15 wins out of 15; one of only two unbeaten champions in the show's history. He later appeared on GrandSlam, losing to Dee Voce.
Countdown
Graham made his debut on 20 July 2000 and won the maximum eight consecutive heat games making him the number one seed. However his points total was beaten by David Williams and he was knocked down to second seed.
However Williams fell in the semi-final, while Nash won his match against Clare Wright. This set up a final between Graham and Matthew Turner.
It was a close and nervous final, as both players had numerous words disallowed. The points were level until Graham got 901 correctly on the numbers game and Matthew only got 900. This ten point lead remained until the last round, where Matthew could tie the game on the conundrum. But it was Graham who spotted RENEWABLE in six seconds and became the Series 43 Countdown champion.
Hawkwind is the self-titled debut album by Hawkwind, released in 1970, originally on Sunset Records.Later moving to the Liberty label. This album is historic since it is one of the first space rock LPs.
Recording
The Pretty Things guitarist Dick Taylor, who was looking for a new venture after leaving the band, was pulled into Hawkwind playing some gigs and producing this album. After several unsuccessful attempts to capture the band's sound in the studio, it was decided simply to record it live in the studio.
Songs
The bulk of the album is composed of a freeform instrumental piece that the band named "Sunshine Special" but it was separated into different tracks on this album. On the LP, "Paranoia" ends after the first minute with the music slowing down as though the turntable is stopping, and then picks up as the first cut on Side 2. Lyrics are scant, but those that are present and the song titles are a reference to the drug experience, as the sleeve notes explain:
The two book-end pieces of "Hurry on Sundown" and "Mirror of Illusion" are more of a nod to Brock's alternative activity of busking and were released as a single in edited form.

LYRICS:
How does it feel when life doesn't seem real?
And you're floating about on your own
Life seems uncertain, so you draw the curtain
Pretending there's nobody home
Don't theorize, look in your eyes
They can't tell lies
Though you disguise what you see
Your reality
We needed a savior and by our behavior
The ones that were worth it are gone
But song birds are talking and runners are walking
A prodigal son's coming home
Don't theorize, look in his eyes
And they won't tell lies
But if he defies what you see
Here is a Key
Be yourself, why don't you be yourself?
Come on and be yourself, why don't you be?

We needed a tutor, so built a computer
And programmed himself not to see
The truth and the lying, the dead, all the dying
There is only one way to be
So Don't theorize, look in his eyes
Are they telling lies?
The ones that you see on T.V.
So you want to be free
Be yourself, why don't you be yourself?
Come on and be yourself, why don't you be yourself?
Oh, be yourself, come on and be yourself
Why don't you be yourself?
