IMBALU STARTS : Bagisu elders call for changes in ceremony
Despite the importance of the right to manhood attached to the cultural rituals that take place before and after circumcision, some experts and cultural leaders in Mbale region are calling for some rituals to be dropped to avoid contracting and spreading diseases. These include dropping the ritual of identifying a casual partner for a circumcised person to share their first sexual encounter as a man. This follows the start of circumcision season that will see thousands of boys in the Bugisu sub-region and Eastern Kenya attend the Imbalu festival today at Mutoto Cultural ground in Mbale City. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition

When I was you we walked to school And I carried your books 'cause even then I was a fool But you grew up and said goodbye I still remember the things that made me cry For all too soon my story ends I found a love, now not even friends Tell me why loving you, loving me like you used to do I was the child I held your hand and I told you things And I made you believe, believe in fairy tales and diamond rings Then all too soon my story ends I found a love, now not even friends Tell me why loving you, loving me like you used to do I was the child
