I'm voting yes next week to the Indigenous Voice to Parliament because the idea came directly from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and is backed by over 80% of their community. It's important, if you aren't sure or don't know, check out https://voice.gov.au

What is the Australian Constitution? | The Daily Aus
There’s a lot of talk at the moment about the constitution. That’s because Australia’s about to vote on whether to change it. So, what actually is the constitution? Basically, it’s the highest law of the land. It sets out the roles and limitations of the government.
To put it simply, if the Constitution says something has to happen, it has to happen. It came into effect in 1901. It’s changed occasionally since then, but its basic structure is the same.

Chapter one establishes the Parliament and its powers.
Chapter two establishes the Government and its Ministers.
Chapter three establishes the courts.
Chapter four deals with financial arrangements, like tax collection.

There are eight chapters.
Chapter one establishes the Parliament and its powers.
Chapter two establishes the Government and its Ministers.
Chapter three establishes the courts.
Chapter four deals with financial arrangements, like tax collection.
Chapters five and six set out the role of states, and chapters seven and eight tie up a few loose ends.
For the constitution to change, the whole of Australia needs to vote. That process, which we’ll go through in the next video, is called a referendum.
