At the time the papers were written, Einstein did not have easy access to a complete set of scientific reference materials, although he did regularly read and contribute reviews to Annalen der Physik. Additionally, scientific colleagues available to discuss his theories were few. He worked as an examiner at the Patent Office in Bern, Switzerland, and he later said of a co-worker there, Michele Besso, that he "could not have found a better sounding board for his ideas in all of Europe". In addition, co-workers and the other members of the self-styled "Olympian Academy" (Maurice Solovine and Paul Habicht) and his wife, Mileva Marić had some influence on Einstein's work, but how much is unclear.
Annus mirabilis is a Latin phrase that means "wonderful year", "miraculous year" or "amazing year". This term was originally used to refer to the year 1666 (see below), and today is used to refer to several years during which events of major importance are remembered. Prior to this, however, Thomas Dekker used the phrase mirabilis annus in his 1603 pamphlet The Wonderful Year, "Wherein is shewed the picture of London lying sick of the plague."
1814 was a pivotal year in the history of Norway. It started with Norway in a union with Denmark subject to a naval blockade being ceded to the king of Sweden. In May a constitutional convention declared Norway independent. By the end of the year the Norwegian parliament had agreed to join with Sweden in a personal union under the monarch of Sweden. Although nationalist aspirations were not to be fully realized until the events of 1905, 1814 was the crisis and turning point in events that would lead to a fully independent Norway.
The year contains the story of one king and two ambitious future kings in Scandinavia who may have hoped to unite Sweden, Denmark, and Norway under their throne. The Norwegian people and their leaders were caught in the middle of this rivalry, attempting through the crisis to create a measure of self-determination.
Prior to 1814
Denmark–Norway had become entangled on the French side in the Napoleonic War through its participation in the Gunboat War. Having lost its fleet, it was virtually defenceless as the tides turned against France. The Royal Navy had blocked all Norwegian ports effectively from 1808, thus breaking many bonds to Denmark, and leaving Norway to itself. Under those conditions, tension grew in Norway, and a fledgling independence movement was formed in 1809. The Swedish campaign against Norway in 1808-09 had been repulsed by the Norwegians army, something that made Norwegians more prone to independence.
Annus Mirabilis is a poem written by John Dryden published in 1667. It commemorated 1665–1666, the "year of miracles" of London. Despite the poem's name, the year had been one of great tragedy, including the Great Fire of London. Johnson writes that Dryden uses the term "year of miracles" for this period of time to suggest that events could have been worse. Dryden wrote the poem while at Charlton in Wiltshire, where he went to escape one of the great events of the year: the Great Plague of London.
Historical context
The title of Dryden's poem, used without capitalisation, annus mirabilis, derives its meaning from its Latin origins and describes a year of particularly notable events. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Dryden's use of the term for the title of his poem constitutes the first known written use of the phrase in an English text.
The first event of the miraculous year was the Battle of Lowestoft fought by English and Dutch ships in 1665. The second was the Four Days Battle of June 1666, and finally the victory of the St. James's Day Battle a month later. The second part of the poem deals with the Great Fire of London that ran from September 2–7, 1666. The miracle of the Fire was that London was saved, that the fire was stopped, and that the great king (Charles II) would rebuild, for he already announced his plans to improve the streets of London and to begin great projects. Dryden's view is that these disasters were all averted, that God had saved England from destruction, and that God had performed miracles for England.

Professor Flood reviews the year that made Einstein famous as he published some of his greatest work: http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/einsteins-annus-mirabilis-1905
In 1905, his 'year of wonders', Einstein published four papers of ground-breaking importance. First he published the work that introduced quanta of energy - a core idea of quantum theory. Next was a paper on Brownian motion explaining the movement of small particles suspended in a liquid. His third paper introduced the special theory of relativity linking time, distance, mass and energy while his fourth paper contains one of the most famous equations of all, E=mc².

Lady Chatterley's Lover was written in 1928 and published in Italy. It was banned in Britain because it contained four letter words and explicit descriptions of sex. The ban was lifted in the famous trial of 1960. The listing of the ban opened the floodgates and in the years following much erotica was published and plenty of explicit pornography too. I can't remember who said that the availability of pornography was the price of freedom of speech - but I have the idea it was an American President.

In America, Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer followed a similar course.
The Beatles first LP was released in January, 1964. I'm sure that somebody will correct me if I have got that wrong.
The contraceptive pill was first introduced to the public in the 1960's and was held by some to be the cause of the sort of sexual promiscuity Aldous Huxley portrayed in Brave New World. In an earlier book, Chrome Yellow, a young lady says, "contraception has rendered chastity superfluous"
The relaxation of sexual taboos in the 1960's and publication of more informative material brought the ability for young people to satisfy their curiosity about sex and the freedom to discuss it openly. A reliable method of birth control helped but it wasn't the cause of the change in social habits: it was the end of imposed ignorance that made all the difference.
Larkin was 41 in 1963.
Sexual intercourse began
In nineteen sixty-three
(which was rather late for me) -
Between the end of the Chatterley ban
And the Beatles' first LP.
Up to then there'd only been
A sort of bargaining,
A wrangle for the ring,
A shame that started at sixteen
And spread to everything.
Then all at once the quarrel sank:
Everyone felt the same,
And every life became
A brilliant breaking of the bank,
A quite unlosable game.
So life was never better than
In nineteen sixty-three
(Though just too late for me) -
Between the end of the Chatterley ban
And the Beatles' first LP.

Why did the Kalmar Union and Denmark-Norway Collapse?
Why did the Kalmar Union and Denmark-Norway Collapse?
Despite each having their own cultures and people, and now being entirely independent of each other, the three Nordic nations, in particular, have a curiously intertwined history. But why exactly did they end up united? What happened to the Kalmar Union that would eventually be succeeded by Denmark-Norway? And why would Denmark-Norway eventually collapse?...

1814: The Year Norway got it`s Constitution. With Bård Frydenlund
For over 400 years Norway has been under Danish Rule since The Fondation of The Kalmar Union. But this was all about to change as The Napoleonic Wars burst out in the beginning of the 19th Century. Norway would soon in 1814 found it`s own constitution and be under Sweedish rule for another 100 years. But how did this happened? What gave Norway the oportunity to form our very own constitution? Find out this week on "Well That Aged Well". With "Erlend Hedegart".

Kingdom of Norway (1814-1820) National Anthem "Norges Skaal" (1771) +Eng Sub
Norges Skaal, was first written in 1771 by Johan Nordahl Brun in Copenhagen during the period when Norway was in a personal union with Denmark as a drinking song for the Norwegian literary society in Copenhagen.
“Norges Skaal” (also sometimes referred to as “For Norge, Kiæmpers Fødeland” from the first line of the song) gained popularity in the early 1800s when Norwegian nationalism was increasing, and the song was banned by Danish officials when it was first performed. It quickly gained a reputation as being anti-Danish and revolutionary, and was referred to as “the Norwegian Marseillaise”.

Annus mirabilis is a Latin phrase that means "wonderful year", "miraculous year" or "amazing year". This term was originally used to refer to the year 1666, and today is used to refer to several years during which events of major importance are remembered. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annus_mirabilis
Annus Mirabilis was also the title of a poem by John Dryden published in 1667, the year after the Great Fire of London. It means "Year of Miracles".
I can't remember who said that the availability of pornography was the price of freedom of speech - but I have the idea it was an American President.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Chatterley's_Lover
In America, Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer followed a similar course.
The Beatles first LP was released in January, 1964. I'm sure that somebody will correct me if I have got that wrong.
The contraceptive pill was first introduced to the public in the 1960's and was held by some to be the cause of the sort of sexual promiscuity Aldous Huxley portrayed in Brave New World. In an earlier book, Chrome Yellow, a young lady says, "contraception has rendered chastity superfluous"
The relaxation of sexual taboos in the 1960's and publication of more informative material brought the ability for young people to satisfy their curiosity about sex and the freedom to discuss it openly. A reliable method of birth control helped but it wasn't the cause of the change in social habits: it was the end of imposed ignorance that made all the difference.
Larkin was 41 in 1963.
Sexual intercourse began
In nineteen sixty-three
(which was rather late for me) -
Between the end of the Chatterley ban
And the Beatles' first LP.
Up to then there'd only been
A sort of bargaining,
A wrangle for the ring,
A shame that started at sixteen
And spread to everything.
Then all at once the quarrel sank:
Everyone felt the same,
And every life became
A brilliant breaking of the bank,
A quite unlosable game.
So life was never better than
In nineteen sixty-three
(Though just too late for me) -
Between the end of the Chatterley ban
And the Beatles' first LP.
Exceptionally.... Einstein answered all the asked and unasked questions about the Cosmos in all the domains or perspectives of physics. In the year 1905, he published 4 papers which put the entire great age old establishment into a surprise with a very radical thoughts presented in all of those papers. The first paper on "duality of light" , second one is on "proof of existance of molecules and atoms" , the third one is the most famous" mass- Energy equivalence" and Final one and his favourite "special theory of Relativity".

Description: Annus Mirabilis is a poem written by John Dryden published in 1667. It commemorated 1665–1666, the "year of miracles" of London. Despite the poem's name, the year had been one of great tragedy, including the Great Fire of London. The title was perhaps meant to suggest that the events of the year could have been worse. Dryden wrote the poem while at Charlton in Wiltshire, where he went to escape one of the great events of the year: the Great Plague of London.

By Frederick Frahm and Huw Morgan. Music for organ, mostly manuals. Collaborating founders of Firehead Organ Works, Frederick Frahm and Huw Morgan, have scheduled an annus mirabilis to gladden every calendar. They have transatlantically alternated months to compile this marvelous almanac meant for secular or concert use, but movements can certainly be used in divine worship. Although a twelvemonth seems like a monumental musical setting, these pieces are short, and can comfortably make a full program set.

Sometimes countries break up, like Britain and Ireland, Britain and America or Britain and most other places. And one such major break up was when Norway and Sweden went their own way in 1905. But what caused this split? Why did the two break up? To find out watch this short and simple animated history documentary.

Norway was in a union with Sweden from 1814 to 1905. In that time Norway slowly developed a democracy and ended up becoming independent.

La meg fortelle om Norges historie,
om grunnlovsmennene og alt det de gjorde.
De satte seg sammen alle hundreogtolv,
og laget lov for Norge her på - Eidsvoll!
I firehundre år ble vi ledet av dansker,
så tapte vi en krig, og det skapte vansker,
Kielfreden ga oss til Sverige som en pakke
For Norge var det bare å bukke og takke.
Men "NEI!", sa noen menn i 1814

Sistemann tok føringen i valsen
