Howard Andrew "Andy" Williams (December 3, 1927 – September 25, 2012) was an American popular music singer. He recorded forty-four albums in his career, seventeen of which have been Gold-certified and three of which have been Platinum-certified. He hosted The Andy Williams Show, a television variety show, from 1962 to 1971, and numerous television specials. The Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri is named after the song he is most known for singing—Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini's "Moon River".
Williams was born in Wall Lake, Iowa, the son of Jay Emerson and Florence (née Finley) Williams. While living in Cheviot, Ohio, Williams attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio; he finished high school at University High School, in West Los Angeles, because of his family's move to California. He had three older brothers—Bob, Don, and Dick Williams.
Williams's first performance was in a children's choir at the local Presbyterian church. He and his brothers formed The Williams Brothers quartet in late 1938, and they performed on radio in the Midwest, first at WHO, in Des Moines, Iowa, and later at WLS, in Chicago, and WLW, in Cincinnati.
Andrew "Andy" Williams (born 23 September 1977 in Toronto, Ontario) is a retired Canadian-born Jamaican footballer who last played for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer.
Williams played college soccer for the University of Rhode Island where he remains the team's all-time leading scorer, with 52 goals and 45 assists.
After spending a couple of years in his home country with Real Mona, Williams joined Major League Soccer in 1998 with the Columbus Crew, with whom he would play for two seasons. In 2000, he moved to the Miami Fusion, but would only remain there one year before going to the New England Revolution. Williams played in 2001 and beginning of 2002 with New England, before moving to the MetroStars in a six-player deal in the middle of the 2002 season. He only lasted half a season with the Metros, soon traded again, to the Chicago Fire, with whom he played for two years.
Williams became the second player in Real Salt Lake history when he was their first selection in the 2004 MLS Expansion Draft. He became the first player in MLS history to play for six teams. In his ten years in the league, Williams has scored 27 goals and added 78 assists. After leading Jamaica to the Caribbean title in 2008, Williams suffered through the prolonged illness of his wife during the 2009 season, which culminated with Real Salt Lake winning the MLS Cup in November 2009. The Williams family received further good news in late 2009/early 2010 as Marcia Williams' cancer went into remission. In 2010, Williams returned to Real Salt Lake focused and re-energized.
Andy Williams is a visual effects supervisor.
Andy Williams was nominated at the 88th Academy Awards for his work on the film Mad Max: Fury Road in the category for Best Visual Effects. His nomination was shared with Dan Oliver, Andrew Jackson, and Tom Wood.
Andy Williams is a compilation album by American pop singer Andy Williams that was released early in 1958 by Cadence Records. This first album to compile the singer's material features his first six songs to make the Billboard Hot 100 along with their corresponding B-sides.
In "The Music Lover's Guide to Record Collecting", author Dave Thompson writes, "Of additional interest among Cadence LPs of this period was [company founder Archie] Bleyer's insistence on adding droll commentaries" to the cover design. For example, the cover for the album Kenneth Patchen Reads His Poetry quotes Bleyer as saying, "' Puts muscles in your ears.'" Thompson, however, adds that "the most bizarre phrase is surely that which attends Andy Williams' Andy Williams album: 'He's All Male and Catnip to Quail,' Says Archie". The cover photo alongside it shows Williams standing next to a quail and a squatting figure in a lion costume with a man in the far background seated on a stool with his back to the camera. A much simpler cover design featuring the artist's name and photo with a list of the album's contents was eventually released.
Andy Williams (born 7 February 1981 in Swansea), is a Welsh international rugby union player. A scrum half, he has attained 5 caps for the Wales national rugby union team.
At the beginning of the 2007/2008 season Williams joined the Welsh region Newport Gwent Dragons from Bath. He has also previously played for the Ospreys.
In January 2009 his contract with the Dragons was terminated. In September 2009 it was announced that he had joined English Championship side Moseley. Williams joined Gloucester 30 December 2009 in a short term loan arrangement.
In June 2010 he signed for Worcester Warriors.
Andrew "Andy" Williams (born 29 July 1962) is a former footballer, who played for 278 league games in an eleven-year professional career in the Football League. He turned out for Coventry City, Rotherham United, Leeds United, Port Vale, Notts County, Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Scarborough. He also played for non-league sides Dudley Town, Solihull Borough, Guiseley, Gainsborough Trinity, and Matlock Town. He was named in the PFA Team of the Year for the Third Division in 1987–88, and helped Leeds to the Second Division title in 1989–90.
Williams started in non-league with Dudley Town and Solihull Borough, before he was signed by First Division side Coventry City in 1985 for a fee of £20,000, at the age of 23. He played ten games for the club, before he was allowed to sign with Rotherham United of the Third Division in October 1986. The "Millers" were relegated at the end of the 1987–88 season after losing to Swansea City at the semi-final stage of the Fourth Division play-offs. Despite this, Williams was still chosen in the PFA Team of the Year for his strong performances throughout the season. His performances also won him a £175,000 move to Leeds United in November 1988, then a Second Division side. He went on to make nineteen appearances in 1988–89, eleven of which were as a substitute. He was the first signing of manager Howard Wilkinson.

Andy Williams.........The Impossible Dream. To dream the impossible dream To fight the unbeatable foe To bear with unbearable sorrow To run where the brave dare not go To right the unrightable wrong To be better far than you are To try when your arms are too weary To reach the unreachable star This is my quest, to follow that star No matter how hopeless, no matter how far To be willing to give when there's no more to give To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest That my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest And the world will be better for this That one man, scorned and covered with scars, Still strove with his last ounce of courage To reach the unreachable star
