To help compare different orders of magnitude this page lists lengths between 10 and 100 kilometres (104 to 105metres). The myriametre (sometimes also spelled myriameter, myriometre and myriometer) (10,000 metres) is a deprecated unit name; the decimal metric prefix myria- (sometimes also written as myrio-) is obsolete and not included among the prefixes when the International System of Units was introduced in 1960.
The hectare (/ˈhɛktɛər/ or /ˈhɛktɑːr/; symbol ha) is an SI accepted metric system unit of area equal to 100 ares (10,000m2) and primarily used in the measurement of land. An acre is about 0.4047 hectare and one hectare contains about 2.47 acres.
In 1795, when the metric system was introduced, the "are" was defined as 100 square metres and the hectare ("hecto-" + "are") was thus 100 "ares" or 1⁄100km2. When the metric system was further rationalised in 1960, resulting in the International System of Units (SI), the are was not included as a recognised unit. The hectare, however, remains as a non-SI unit accepted for use with the SI units, mentioned in Section 4.1 of the SI Brochure as a unit whose use is "expected to continue indefinitely".
History
The metric system of measurement was first given a legal basis in 1795 by the French Revolutionary government. The law of 18 Germinal, Year III (7 April 1795) defined five units of measure:

🤔 Why this course? 👇
There’s a famous quote by Bobby Fischer “All that matters on the chessboard is good moves”. Although that’s true, the important question is: how do you find good moves? There’s great pressure on a chess player. One mistake could make you lose the game on the spot. Success or failure, death, or glory… it all rests on the decision you make now. Better make it a good one.
Drawing on years of experienced coaching club players (1600-2300 ELO), Davorin has identified the 9 types of decisions that players have to make in real games.
He explains the errors in thinking that lead to mistakes at these critical junctures… and gives you easy-to-follow processes for getting them right.

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov talks about the most underrated chess gambit for Black against the White's first move 1.e4. It is the Rousseau Gambit (or Ponziani Countergambit) from the Italian Game (Giuoco Piano), which happens after the opening moves: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 f5.
The resulting position is similar to a King's Gambit Declined with colours reversed. This gambit has a lot of tricks and traps along the way which helps Black to win within just 10 moves in these lines.

A few months ago, I made a video on how to crush playing 1. e4 and gave various recommendations against Black's openings in the French, Sicilian, Scandinavian, and so on. In this video, I analyze the Vienna Attack in full depth. It's excellent for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players.

📥 Download the PGN of this analysis from this blog-post - https://chess-teacher.com/winning-e4-chess-opening-strategy/
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will be sharing with you the strategies for winning after the White’s first move 1.e4. He will show you a couple of interesting opening lines, but even more so, he will give you general guidelines that you can follow in case you’re unaware of a certain opening line or forgot it; you can still follow these crucial strategies to win your games.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
